I just purchased a red top SR. I'm in the process of doing a full OEM rebuild, but I HATE messing with a vehicles head.

How much would you guys charge in labor for a head rebuild?

We would ship the head to our machine shop so they can do a vacuum check to see if it needs a valve job, I'd put new valve seals on it, have them check the surface to make sure it's not warped.

We can also order in oversized valves, springs/retainers/camshafts for the head also. We'd need to know what you are looking at getting done and we'll be able to get you a better price quote :)

I dont really want it machined, unless it's completely hurting. I'd just like to get a full oem rebuild on it. I'll have the parts unless you think the shop is able to order the parts at a better price.

even if you dont want it machined, i would still recommend having the machine shop do a pressure check to make sure there are no cracks, and make sure the head isnt warped.

if the motor never overheated, then i would take a guess that the head is not warped, but it doesnt hurt to check.
