Wow man, sorry to hear that.

Did your vet discuss chemo with you? If you have questions or want other options you might give the KSU Vet school a call. Since it is a research hospital/school, I would at least talk to them.

Again, very sorry to hear about your dog.

Yeah, it was mentioned. She is going to go to a specialist to discuss options.

What specialist? We are the downside of a oral chemotherapy on our 8 year old boxer for a disease called Pemphigus Foliaceus. We went to VSEC/Blue Pearl in Overland Park.

We have been treating since July 21 and finally getting results.

We also went to them when out 3 year old female boxer when she had cancer, she unfortunately had a extremely rare form that was not treatable.

My in-laws are doing a lot of the scheduling/doctors visits based off recommendations that my vet has given since my wife and I work.

Understood. Stay strong, it is really, really, really hard and time consuming. It is also very costly.

That's a hard thing to go through. I've never had a dog with cancer but I don't think I would prolong suffering, but that's up to you and the doctor.

So she has made it a couple months longer than the doctors thought, my mother in law came over tonight to let the dogs out and she had a red spot on her chest and she went to the vet and it is internal bleeding and it is spreading through her chest.

So I think this weekend my wife and I are going to put her to sleep so she doesn't have to go through anymore pain

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear. Having to put down your dog is not easy, but at least won't be suffering.

Thought I would update this since I started it

We had to put PJ down this morning last night was way too rough on her, she stopped eating and had even lost more muscle mass vs when she went in earlier in the week and the bleeding was causing more bruising and I didn't want to see her like that anymore

Sorry to hear this. Losing a pet is very difficult, but just know that you did what was in her best interest. I am sure this has been a very difficult situation for everyone.

RIP PJ
