Dave, it is almost done. I had to go out and buy another roll of duct tape and I ran out of bailing wire so you KNOW it is getting close. I figure another couple feet of tape and a couple more wires twistied and taped together oughta make it plenty safe for those high speed sessions on the Bandit Run.
BTW: My timing light quit on me but it's all good. I turned the distributor til it started stumbling and backed it off a smidge. Boy does the car pull now, a slight bit of rattling under heavy load but no biggie as long as it's hauling ass..... Right?
 I bet I had you going for a sec didn't I. You can admit it.If for even a split second you were like "Oooohh, shit." lolol

Oh shit is right...
That ranks right in the with the kid in yout shop saying...
"lets go take it out for a spin now"
as I was walking out the door yesterday.
I meant to tell you the first oil filter off the car is in a white plastic bag in the trunk. I need you to give it to Shawn while he is there checking the valves. He is going to cut it open and make sure we don't have any metal in it.
If you need me to do parts running friday I am open all day to help out. It sounds like we will be stuck like chuck over the weekend. They are calling for snow on Saturday... :puke: Remember my tires are not rated for below 32 degrees. They get slick below that according to the tire company.
Were you able to find a air/fuel gauge in that smaller size or are we going to have to go to 2 5/8 for all three?

I have a smaller one in mind. Gonna do some more research to make sure it's a quality unit first.
BTW: Ya gotta watch it around the shop. If someone isn't giving someone some crap as a gag then someone is sick. lol Shop motto is "No crying allowed" so obviously everyone brings their A-game just to get someone to invoke the rule. :lol2:
PS: For real though: NO ONE is allowed to mess with customer cars, including me, for recreation purposes. I am the ONLY one who will ever be driving any car even for testing unless the customer says otherwise.

If I doubted that for a second I wouldn't have left my car with you. I trust you to take care of my car. It aint a ford it wont break that easy anyways!!!

Should we go ahead and run a NOS pressure gauge with the other three while we are setting up those gauges?

Should we go ahead and run a NOS pressure gauge with the other three while we are setting up those gauges?Usually the pressure gauge is mounted on the bottle. I can put it with the other three gauges if you want. Just gotta remove the back seat to gain access and run it under the carpet then we should be good to go.

Hey it snowed like hell saturday and sunday is BEAUTIFUL!!
Hope the weekend went of ok for you.
Wife was not happy with me writing a $500 check for parts
I told her that was so you had it on hand to shop for better deals on stuff. You may have to protect me from her if she follows through with the threat of shooting me. :lol2:

Maybe I should call and tell her you gave me more money. I'm sure there's someway I can get her to help me out.
PS: Drove it on a short hop to grab some bolts at Westlake Hardware. I parked it and let it sit. So far so good on the external oil pan repair. Gonna check it in the morning again and if I don't see oil I'ma call the pan fixed.

Thats what we were hoping for. Make sure to leave it sit running somewhere and then check it. It was leaving a pretty good pool in a few minutes before.

Mark,
I want to make plans to pick the car up by next friday morning. I want to get it to Tim Worthy that day to have that sound checked out.
Please try to make sure we are ready to roll by that morning.

:thumbsup:It shall be doooooonnnneeeee(think Charlton Heston booming voice from the 10 commandments)
BTW: More likely be done Tues. or Weds. next week. As soon as I get the Wideband in I can finish up the gauge panel and we be done wit yo ride.
PS: This weather has really put a damper on the durability drives. I haven't felt comfortable taking it out of the shop except for one day I ran to the parts store in it and another day I drove it home to eat lunch. Hopefully we get some decent weather in the next few days as I want to go about 10 miles down the highway and come back on a test drive with the new gauges installed to see how the fluids react to a highway situation at sustained cruising RPM.

With the wideband installed it should make tuning the carb simple.
I am off monday during the day or friday next week.

Were you and Shawn able to meet up today? Did the Wideband come in?
