So this morning I completely disasembled my dishwasher because it's getting this NASTY white buildup. I run vinegar through it every few months but the shit just keeps adding up in there. So I get all the parts cleaned, put it back together and now the thing starts leaking. FML.

So I take everything apart again, and I check online for a manual just to double check my work. Well what do you know but my dishwasher was fucking recalled a year ago for a fire hazard. So now a repairman is coming out Friday to fix the electrical issue that was causing fires. I am sure he will be happy to see that I have already taken the thing apart.

Once it's fixed I am guessing I am going to have to deal with this buildup issue. It's spraying shit into my glasses in the top rack.

Might be worth trying to use a different dishwasher detergent if you haven't done that already.

have you tried running CLR through it?

I've got the same issue. Been trying two different types of cleaners. Haven't tried CLR yet, but I can almost guarantee it's grease buildup. It's soft and gritty and when dries leaves little white crusties on the glasses. Let me know what works for you.

Easy Solution:

It is actually lime buildup. Go to Walmart and buy LemmyShine or something named similar. Problem solved.

Had the same issue - not anymore.
