Well,

As many of you know, or heard, I rode from Wichita to San Francisco on my hayabusa this most recent summer. I'm already planning out my next trip, and am looking to go east. I learned a lot last time and 5000 miles in a week was pretty intense.

I'll be joined by 2 of my friends (also on hayabusas) and anyone else looking to join in the Cross Country Sportbike Challenge, as we're jokingly calling it.

Do you guys have any particular roads, destinations or sights we should stop at on our way to Myrtle Beach? We're allotting 5 days each direction and plan on taking different routes in each direction.

Restaurants
Sights
Roads
Got hotel spots
awesome truck stops

just throw out some suggestions!

Thanks guys!

US129 in Tennessee. Also know as deals gap and the dragon. I drove it in my honda and it was intense. Check it out for sure.

That's actually on the list. Should be hitting it the third day and then headed south from there into south carolina. I anticipate lots of cops and traffic. regardless, it should be fun.

I would be down for this, but I ride a motard and wouldn't be able to keep up.

haha yea. that would be a pretty intense ride regardless. I learned a lot last summer, I'm going to be a lot better prepared this time around.

There are alot of cool Civil War sites here in Georgia. Just an hour South West of where I'm at, is the Andersonville Cemetary and POW site.

haha no worries KC_SI. I'm kind of curious to hear what you had written haha. I'd like to stop at one of the battle fields down south if possible. I've not seen a civil war battlefield and would like to do that before I do, bucket list shit

I know people all over Virginia. If I wasn't such a pussy about putting miles on my bike I would be interested in tagging along... :lol2:

Why Myrtle Beach?

not sure lol. I tend to pick pretty random places and just go there haha. Just seemed like a good place to spend a night.

I'm going down to Valdosta Ga in February, maybe I'll run into some nice spots to stop or get some ideas as part of the route overlaps.

no point in having a bike if you're not going to ride it. It'll get miles one way or another lol.

That sounds like an effing blast. Unfortunately, I get uncomfortable after about 2 hours on the gsxr :lol2:

Haha, that's the beauty of a 5 gallon tank and 40 mpg, I have to stop and refuel every 180-200 miles. Limited to 500 miles a day will make it a lot more enjoyable. No more 1000-1100 mile days for me on this thing.

What timeframe are you looking at for this trip? I'll have about a month to a month and a half off between graduation in May and starting my job in June, and I'll be itching to take the bike on the road. That is, if you can stand a little SV650 to tag along with the big boys.
