I've never had sushi in KC but I'm looking to try a new place. Where do you recommend to go?

Kyoto at 135th and Metcalf is awesome. Ra at 119th and Nall is pretty good too.

A nice little hole in the wall place is Jun's on State Line in Prairie Village. Same parking lot as the Hy-Vee.

I also like Mr. Sushi in Lee's Summit.

If you don't mind "buffet sushi" there is also Joy Wok at 119th and Metcalf.

There's another thread on here, but Mint in Lee's Summit is my favorite. Jun's in Prairie Village is good, Kato and Saki up north are also very good.

Kyoto-crazy monkey roll FTW
Sushi mido is great if you can put down a lot of sushi, 15.00 for all you can eat, but they charge you .50 for each piece you leave on your plate. So eat it all.

Recently went to wasahi in gladstone and I was very impressed.
Drunken fish is a nice date night sushi place, great drinks

I still want to try the sushi train, I've heard great things about it.

I've been told RA was overpriced for the quality of rolls they give you.

Nara is great for the atmosphere and food

A girl I know that lives downtown was talking about how good Nara is, the other day. I'll have to give it a shot sometime.

I like most of the places mentioned so far - I didn't see Edokko off 87th in OP.

Love that place and Ann the owner is a great lady, the service has been just OK in the past but lately, they have improved. The food, has never ever disappointed, top quality.

Edokko is the best in the area. This coming from a person that has been eating sushi longer than most of you have been alive.

Niji Sushi in Olathe (151st & Ridgeview) is one of my favorites. Prices are good and the sushi is excellent. It's never busy, but is a great local joint. It's definitely worth a try if you're out this way.

Kona Grill, Friends Sushi on 39th street(go on mondays).

Friends has the same deal on Saturday for lunch too. I used to frequent it when I lived at the Loretto. I also really like Sushi Haru on Stateline and 133rd.

I was going to recommend Ichiban at College & Antioch, but Yelp says their closed.

Jun's was mentioned, but they recently made the wall of shame

Anybody can have 1 or 2 violations. What's the magic number not to go. One of my favorites didn't have that many, but mold in the ice did it for me since I went to a place for the margaritas.

What's the Friends special on saturdays? I couldn't find it online.

ASA in Lenexa was awesome! Fresh fish, tasty rolls, and very nice plating. I highly recommend. However, if you're a fat ass like myself, I suggest opening your wallet up a bit more. :D

Sushi Gin isn't the best sushi but its fairly priced and quick service at the sushi bar.
I like juns, too bad about the violations.
Kyoto is very high quality each time I've gone there.

It's the same as their Monday deal. Now to be honest it's been over a year since I've been there on a saturday so it could have changed.
