Who went and how was your experience?

It was the first time I'd been since 2007. I went mainly for Volbeat and Anthrax, as I'd never seen them live.

The mud sucked, but that was really the only bad part. The crowd was seriously one of the most docile I've ever experienced at a rock show.

The surprise of the day for me was Zombie covering the Ramones, and I managed to capture it all:

We had a blast. Got hooked up with the VIP, free beers, free food, backstage...couldn't get any better. I haven't been since 2009 when it was hotter that shit all day. I much preferred the cooler weather. I didn't even mind the mud so much. It made the people watching all that much better.

This year was my first going and it really wasn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Aside from the mud, constant cigarette smoke, and being pushed/kicked by crowd surfers, it was a good time.

There was defiantly no shortage of topless women either.

First Rockfest I have been to since around 1998. Then it was in the middle of July and at Sandstone. I stood around in the 100 degree heat for a few hours and left before I got a heat stroke. Can't even remember who was there.

I was surprised at the lack of douche-baggery this year. The mud sucked but I will take it over high temps. Plenty of fun bags were seen but 95% of the chicks in bikini tops should not have been.

Anthrax straight tore it up. Volbeat was good too as was In this Moment. ( BTW...I would wife Maria Brink.) I enjoyed Tech N9ne, but in my oipnion, rap sucks when done live.

I was not surprised in my disappointment of Rob Zombie's performance. Its clear that he does not like outdoor venues. I thought he did too much talkin and not enough rockin.
