I don't see the porsche event this weekend up there. Anyone else have a chance to sign up? The track days is for advanced students and instructors only but if your not one you can come out and watch the Porsche race. :thumbsup:

Kansas City Region PCA club race celebrates its 4th club race on April 21st and 22nd at the renowned Heartland Park Topeka, fresh off its successful inaugural SCCA Runoffs.

Experience the hospitality and camaraderie our region has become famous for. Friday will once again have plenty of track time for club racing test and tune with several DE sessions open to experienced drivers and instructors. Racing activities swing into top gear Saturday and Sunday with two sprint races, several DE sessions and a sixty minute enduro. Registration opens March 1, 2007. Looks like a good list. I suppose if you wanted to be a bit more thorough you could add all of the Fast Friday events (every Friday at MAM) and include the HST (High Speed Touring) events from Hallett. That might make the spreadsheet pretty busy looking though.

At a quick glance, looks a small number of events at MAM are missing (check here (http://midamericamotorplex.com/2006/pdf/2009/Road_Course_schedule_2009_2.pdf) for 2009 MAM calendar).

And, here's the Hallett schedule (http://hallettracing.com/schedule.php) for 2009, which lists the HST events; didn't look to see if any others were missing. The last event of the year (and they also just did one like this recently) is usually awesome because it's HST-only and you get somewhere around 8 sessions.

SO - how much track time does one get out there? I'd like to take the C4 that I'm fixing out there once it's sorted out and knock down some laps but haven't been on a road course for a long time now and it's a lot more formally organized from when I did it last :D I'd rather not spend a ton of cash setting up the car for this as I probably will only do it once...

Couple of questions that I've got about the car's setup and if it'll work or should I just stay home and forget it. Here's what I'm worried about:
1) brake pads (i.e. I think they're cheap auto store replacements - not nearly as agressive as I had hoped the brakes would be)
2) Tires - the tires are almost new but are a cheap Fuzion ZRi - which I'm guessing is not going to be to my advantage but will they be OK or will they chunk or slick over when hot? (do you even get enough heat in them in the runs to worry about?)
3) safety rules - i.e. roll bar - it's a targa top car - will they want a roll bar or a harness bar installed?
