To my understanding if you use a gm maf you don't have to buy a maf translator if you use version 3. How do you go about wiring it in then?

If you use version 3 of DSMLink then you can use a Map Sensor and ditch the MAF all together.

So I just need a map sensor and i can be rid of the stock maf and vent to atmosphere???? What map sensor do i need then???? I also need to know how much you would charge to chip an ecu with ecmlink and install a map sensor and a full tune.

I just looked it over and the new ECMLink stuff doesn't look like you can change to a speed density setup like the V3 was first rumored to be able to do. From the looks of it though you have more options now for MAF setups and Evo 8 MAF's are available as well. We have a used Evo 9 MAF down here for $125 if you're interested. To chip an ECU for ECMLink it will be $50. For a full tune on pumpgas it's $450.

Ok, so map sensor is out what about the gm maf? Is that a usable item or did i just waste time and money on it? I guess that's my main question right now.

No, the GM Maf is still able to be used with or w/o the Maf Translator. You tell them before purchase which MAF you will be using and in what capacity (blow thru or conventional).

You can use the GM MAS with or without the translator with the new V3. You just need to purchase ECMlink's GM MAS cable ($75) if you are not using the translator. Speed density is NOT currently being supported but it's in the works and will just be a firmware upgrade to work with V3.
