convert to OBD1 via boomslang harness. the car already has a p28 IIRC, so go from there

If you didn't want to convert to obd1 like mentioned above you could go with an AEM EMS or HKS F-Con Vpro....these are full stand-alone computers that are plug n' play for your vehicle. These on the other hand are quite a bit more price wise compared to swiching to obd1 via a harness and having the computer tuned via CromePro, NepTune, HonData, etc.

I generally would never suggest such a thing, but you said *minor tweaking*, if the car has stock injectors and isn't boosted, couldn't a vafc tune get your vtec engagement and fuel right where you want it? It's not going to dick much with ignition timing as long as you're on stock injectors and don't have to alter fuel too terribly much. It really depends on what you're doing.

Yeah, I just figured it would need minor tweaking, seems like Im using too much fuel. I just bought the car, and so far I know it has AEM short ram, Professional Products intake manifold, Dc Sports cermic coated headers and an Apexi cat-back.

If anything I would go with a piggy back controller and make sure the a/f's are good.

What would be a good one to go for?

I would try and find a VAFC, I'm sure there's some in the FS section too.

Would hondata work?

All of hondata's products are OBDI outside of their K series products like my ecu, so you would end up converting to OBDI as I understand it. It would most certainly work. If you're into spending money, I'm a big fan of the S300 system myself.

Yup, but I would suggest the S300 over any of the older systems. You will need the conversion harness though and an obd1 computer socketed for it.
For what you have you are pretty much done, but just need a little fuel tweaking. For just bolt-ons like you have you won't need much tuning, unless you have completely changed the VE of the motor with Cams, p&p head, 1mm o/s valves, upped compression, etc.
That's why I suggested something similar to the VAFC, as well Wayne did above. I would put a wideband on it now if you know someone with one to see where your a/f's are at to determine if the VAFC is even needed for fuel tuning.

VAFC it is, lol. How much to tune it if I get one?

$50 an hour with my wideband, usually 1 to 2 hours of tuning.

So around $100 to tune it after I buy the VAFC.

And I just checked out Apexi's web site since we carry them here, and dammit they stopped making the vafc.

I haven't looked into those products for a while, you guy's have any extra's on the shelf?
Does the SAFC Neo control vtec x-over now? This is a new product so you will have to pay new prices unfortuneately.
I would browse the FS section for one as I have seen many up for sale here.
