how much to replace pistons???

I need to know what it takes "$$$" to replace my pistons. Every time i hit vtec i have a cloud of smoke blowing out i have an ls/vtec b18b1 and i have been having this issue for a while now. I had my head rebuild but it didnt change any thing just made it a stronger but thast all. Im not looking to go all out and making real fast but just enough to regain back some of that lost hp or maybe putting in some type r pistons just for high compression. how much to replace only te pistons and rings and to hone the walls. how much extra to micro polish.

Well im thinking its not a headgasket cause he just got his head rebulit and i hope he got a new headgasket so dont think its that plus when those are bad white smoke comes out not as much black

I'm pretty sure it's rings, b\c I'm having the same problem. Go get a compression test and a leak down test. I was showing really low numbers in #4 compared to all other cylinders. I need a re-ring as well...

Give us a call if you can and we can run down a few options for you. If you havn't done a compression/leakdown yet I would suggest that; but it definately sounds like the rings from what you have fixed/replaced already. We can do the compression/leakdown as well if you like.

Have you replaced your pcv valve? Sometimes they can get stuck open and sling oil into the intake causing excessive smoking.
