Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I have heard about this site for a while, just never joined. Couldn't resist any longer. I am a member of SilveradoSS.com, TrailblazerSS.com, Performancetrucks.net, Lightningrodder.com, and CobaltSS.net. Between my wife and I, we have a 2003 Silverado SS, 2000 Ford Lightning, 2006 Cobalt SS Stage II, and 2005 Trailblazer LT. Looking forward to meeting some of you around as we are always looking for meets and love having people to the house for BBQ/Booze. Anyone from the area interested in going to the track sometime let me know.

Fantastic, and you? Finally got a tuned lined out on the lightning and changed the rear gear, SS is now blown with built trans. Justin did a hell of a job tuning it thru mail, now i need to step up injectors...

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised everyone migrated to Lowes with all the crap we've been catching over there.

It's lowered (not too sure on what, but I know it's got nitro drops in the back), headers, mufflers, CAI, and a throttle body spacer. Only thing I've done to it since buying it was the CAI, because the Pro-Flo sitting unnattached on top of the TB when I bought it just wasn't doing it for me.

Wow Somebody Likes to stalk me on every forum I am on...

BTW... I didn't break down and sit on the side of the road... I removed the coil and unplugged the injector and was able to make it home... Plug probably wouldn't of spit if it hadn't been loose for 3+ months... I thought I just had an exhaust leak and didn't think to check the plug... I guess it just kept backing when the motor got hot until it was clinging on to the last threads and popped... BTW Racing and winning does not mean your "brand" product is superior... It just means that vehicle is faster... I love how you think if we were to race and you were to win... It would somehow mean GM's are a more quality built vehicle... Brilliant...

I know how to use hand tools... I usually do my own work.. even rebuilt trannys... But I have never really went inside of a motor before... But anyways I have never installed a insert... I didn't feel like messing up the head any worse then it was. If I had done one or had seen one done I may have attempted to do it. I would rather have someone with experience with inserts install them. Dealership wanted $400+ for one installed... I got a dealership mechanic to install the LockNStitch off the clock for $200.. So I think I got a fair price for not having to mess with it.

I can haul more people, smoke all 4 tires, listen to bose over the shitty sparkomatic system the lightning has, tow more, get better fuel economy, and blow the doors off your lightning with the a/c and heated seats on if I wanted to. If you cant respect a truck like that that looks brand new at 112k miles then i got nothing else for you. So you are just as fast, probibly faster with your power adder and supporting mods since I am pretty well stock... I think the blower from GM puts those trucks in the 13.9 range.. But idk what blower setup you have, how much psi your running, or other mods.. I said a stock SS is slow.. Never said modded ones were.. :thumbsup:

I was referring to the options on my truck, not power loss. I looked at a lightning before i bought my SS, and the options were "cupholder".

As far as a stock SS being slow...they weigh close to 6k lbs with a driver. I guarantee a stock GM 6.0 swapped into a lightning would AT LEAST get it down the track as fast as the blown 5.4, if not faster, and being N/A at that. It was only rated at 15 horsepower less than the Ford motor. Slap a supercharger on it and its not even the same ball game. You are right, it is apples to oranges. As far as my other mods, I have exhaust, K&N, and a stall on a truck with over 100k. And fyi GM never put a blower on these trucks. Ever.

Hence why I said GM blower kit.

Perhaps they will, my job will still be secure, but you cannot knock their product as you can their financial inadequacies....and back to your statement on heated seats not causing power loss. It is possible, since when commanded on they draw quite a few amps. If the pcm does not get enough voltage to properly control injector pulse-width, the engine may be starved of the necessary fuel to make power. Will it ever happen? Not with a properly operating charging system. Just wanted you to know its possible, schooling you is kind of fun.
