I am so pissed off right now but my hands are tied, last fall i adopted a great dane mix puppy, that was frickin awesome he was very playfull and my 4 yr old son fell in love with hime 3 weeks after having him, i come home from work and my son had let him out of the house and he ran off. weeks turn into months and nothing i figured someone had takin MEMPHIS in.So MAY17, i get a phone call ,its the animal shelter saying we have your dog we rush down the following day, to see this beast of a dane, 70lbs already at approx1 yr old.Bythis time we had adopted a female pit bull named savanna, It was love at first sight, the are best friends.We have 3 days of playing, and just having a great time with my new DOG.........on the 21 my wife calls me at 7 am and says memphis ran under theporch and was hiding .I was like why? she say's havent a clue memphis and savanna were playing at the end of my property and next thing she knows the both yelp and run up to the house.I get home and crawl under the deck to find memphis panting heavy and not being himself, i call hime to come out and he doesnt move so i crawl under to help him out and some fucking piece of shit had shot him with a .22 caliber so we rush him to the vet and i carry thhim in and the docter says he is in shock and he has been that way at least an hour and a half until i got home and got him to the vet. the doctor gave him some pain medicine adn at 23:30 that night he calls and said memphis had passed, so not only did i lose a loving dog annd my son's best friend and savannas boy toy i am now stuck with a vet bill.i automatically went to all the neighbors and no one will own up to .fucking cowards just thought i would share my story

yea i have already done that sorry for not mentioning, the police officer asked all my neighbors but not a single one will own to it, i filed a report but they told me nothing can be done

Damn, sorry to hear man. Were they fenced in or open yard or what? Unless they were running all over the neighborhood or something I would think it'd be pretty easy to figure out who most likely shot him. Hope they get what the deserve.

Unless I missed something in the thread, its a bit presumptuous to say it was the neighbors. It could have been someone driving by that did it for no reason whatsoever.

The whole situation really fucking sucks, but don't go assaulting the neighbors when they may in fact be completely innocent.
