Hate to cover up 49 years of vintage red, white, and blue peeking out from under the black paint, but along with yellow, there's bare steel too, so she's gonna need a winter coat just to keep things in check. It'll be nice to see it in a different color, too.

The plan is for my son and I to finish out the guts over the winter, while we're inside all warm and cozy. Then before we chuck it all back into the car we'll blast her, fix some of the chassis mockup evils and make her all purty....

Metallic Gray basecoat. Less than ideal conditions, absolute shit job of application. I over-reduced the mix to give me a helping hand with some aspects, at the expense of causing others. I'd like to say "I dont care, this is just to seal her up for the winter" but I'd be lying if I didn't admit to wanting better results.

By the time it's cured out, maybe we'll be graced with weather nice enough to lay down some ideas on top. Then maybe a little color sanding and a shot of clear....

"one of those style"? do you mean "crappy"?:lolg:

if a fella wants to put in the effort, you can get quite a nice finish. This weekend, I was not that fella, lol.

Hopefully we'll get the chance to do it right this summer after the fab work is finished.

Not crappy, Just something that looks decent from a few feet away, rather then the rolling shit box my car looks like now.

well, i think i spent about 60bucks. Double that figure with better paint, sandpaper, and clear and you could have a decent finish.(as long as the body is straight)
