atleast they picked a good body style

The body style was picked about 10 years ago when I was 17 and on a budget. It's just been sitting since for the most part. Not my favorite but it's paid off and proven to have a good foundation.

I'm always shocked at how well those "little" ford motors do with boost

Me too! This should make 4x more horsepower than what it did stock. It's a 284ci.

When was the last time you saw, or drove this car?

Sometime in 2007 for 2 days. Went racing with sixbolt,curtis... etc. Its sat for 7 years total our of 10 years ownership thanks to the military.

Last time I saw it was 2 months ago at VP.... it was in sad shape and made me sad seeing it it and not being able to drive it.

MC Racing was never going to do the turbo kit. They called V&P and set it all up. It's good to see businesses working with each other in this manner!

Is there more pics of the turbo manifold I'm very interested on how you route everything
I have done one set but I was not happy with the end result to many bends and was not sure if equal length was a big deal or not so I didn't use it. I make my Honda manifolds equal length but I look at Pony down turbo kits for mustangs and they are not equal length so it leaves me confused.

I believe the tank has been sumped, huge radiator and front mount intercooler were put on.

The next parts should be easy as far as routing the tubing and getting the painless wiring and bs3 ordered.

Here are some specifics on the fuel system, tranny and turbo

Turbo is a Precision billet 76mm GTSH with a .96 a/r T4 exhaust housing, Transmission is a TH400 with a JW Ultrabell built buy TCI with a transbrake and a full manual reverse pattern valve body. We will go with a TCI coverter, unknown stall rpm yet.

Fuel system will be a Magnafuel protuner 750 pump, and a magnafuel fuel fitler. -12 AN line to the pump, -10 from pump to Y block, and -8 to each rail. -8 from the rails to a external regulator, and 6an return. Probably do 120lb injectors. Injectors will be your only restriction, and will still support right about 1krwhp on E85. The rest of the fuel system is ready to make 1200-1300rwhp on E85 with a set of 160s.

We are using the 120s as they are large enough for your goals on the 4.6 and will idle/cruise better.

Rear gear will probably be in the 3.27 range now.

The record for 2v cars is a 5.4 2v with an 88..... 8.70s at 150+. I don't think it'll get there. I think my goal is 9.20-9.50.

Thanks Chris. The plan is to be done in May. I'll fly in to KC and have Tim or Ryan show me how to drive it lol and try to get my NHRA license while I am in town. If not, I'll bring to Vegas, and get it done here.

I call Ryan once a week asking him how things are supposed to work. It's been waaaay too long and I'm going from driving a 300hp car to 700. It'll be an adjustment but I'm stoked.

I'll leave it up to the experts at V&P to choose the fuel system requirements. I think they have a good idea on what they are doing.

Thanks.

You are right, those Kirkey are not the best. Back when I was naturally aspirated, it made sense due to weight issues. Now, it having 500 more horsepower than before, I can add more comfortable seats and make it a little more street friendly while not really sacrificing ET's.

I'm going to wait till I get the car to my house in Las Vegas but once I do, I'll find some Recaros/Sparcos/Cobras seats, some dynamat and some carpet and make it a nice little cockpit.

All I care about is good customer service, a breakdown of where my money is going, and a honest timeline to when it is to be completed.

I did finally got two way communication before the holiday weekend stating he is going to finish the cage, fuel, trans and hotside but I asked for when he thinks that stuff will be done and I haven't received a response back.

I tried to call you a couple hours ago

Thanks for the call. It's good to have you guys around.

Not having my car has been very difficult for me and yes, it's much more than a car to me.

When you are not close it gets put on the back burner. Have a friend go check on the progress at least twice a week and have them tell the shop they are acting in your behalf.

Just wanted to fill you guys in that the car is not done. At this rate, Christmas is about right for completion..... in 2013.

Very discouraged.

That sucks man. I think I was the last person to actually drive your car, when we towed it from the storage unit to V&P (Vetts & Performance) back in 2010. Figured it was done long time ago.

maybe you should let those guys do their job and when the car is done it's done. i know you have been waiting for forever but this is what happens when you cannot do it yourself. you have to wait. calling them is only going to make them hate you and drag the process out longer.

with that being said it does not take 5 years to build a 9 second car.

Unfortunetly, it won't be running when it leaves this shop. It's going to go to another location to finish it up. Still needs a little bit of work but all relatively small. All of the big stuff has been taken care of besides the wiring.

A good paying customer who has had his car down FOREVER for the recent changes shouldn't be getting the shaft like this. Of course I don't know both sides of the story, but its sad they just cant finish it up for ya.

Good luck sir.

I understand his shop better now than I ever have. I understand why it takes such a long time.

His work is outstanding and I have nothing but confidence in the fact that once it leaves his shop and onto the next place, it'll be on the road by the end of summer.

Man that is a bummer, how come they won't finish it?

What shop is it going to next?

Too many cars at his shop and not enough of Tim to go around. It's not that he won't finish it, it would just take too long and I don't think I can wait that long. We just both agreed that he finish the big stuff that has already been started, then release it from his shop so that the car could get on the road faster with another shop finishing up the smaller stuff.

MC Racing will be the shop it goes to.

Talked to MCRacing. Once they get it... hopefully in the next week, they assured me it will not be in their shop for longer than a month. It still needs a bit of work but I should get it by Summers end.

Thought I'd keep you guys in the loop! Thanks for your support!

Sooooo... that means they could just leave it sitting outside for the next 4 months.

Hopefully they'll have your car up and running pretty fast. Good luck!

Are you going for an all out drag car? It takes a lot to make it work.

It's not a full on drag car. I'd say 50/50.

When I go more extreme, I need to find a good chassis shop on the West coast.

Did they even give you an estimated time of completion or is this just a "blank check, take your time" deal?

You deserve better especially how much money you paid him SO FAR and what do you have to show for it? He can work on his own shit but not others that have paid him thousands of dollars months ago. Is that the way to run a so called business?

Business deal. I want something done you give me the price and we agree to pay as we go or wait till it's finished. Something may prolong the process but in a short and reasonable time. That's it.
