On an unrelated noted, I bought an ebay grill since it's probably too cold right now to paint mine myself.

Besides the car being dirty, and the wheels not being powdercoated black, any thoughts or opinions? Going to paint the wheels myself, come summer time. I'll probably paint the headlight housings myself, too.

Also, a HUGE thanks to Nick aka b16gsr for facilitating the whole process. Mounting, balancing(to a tee), and shipping the wheels with the tire already mounted extremely inexpensively.

Thanks again, to both of you guys! I owe you all big:cheers:.

I think the headlights need to be tinted or smoked or something now with that grill on there.

Looks good Wes! I would suggest doing something about the orange reflector up front. My suggestion would be either smoke it so its really dark or paint it body color. I am not sure if it is a working light or a reflector, but that may influence the decision you make.

I would paint the calipers. I would recommend painting them black. I am not sure if the stock brakes have an AMG vinyl on the breaks but you could do one in vinyl on the black calipers to match the color of the car.

Regarding the headlights, I would take them apart and paint them. I had tinted headlights and it really does decrease the visibility by a decent amount. Just make sure when you do this you either tint or do the same for the fog lights so that they match.

Lastly, I would tint the taillights some. I know a lot of people paint the red part and leave the clear part as it, but I would tint the red part slightly and tint the clear part darker.

Just a couple of my suggestions. The car looks great as is, but a few small details will really bring the car together.

Since I have reflectors/turn signals on the mirrors, It won't really be a problem. Definitely taking the headlights apart and painting the inside when it warms up. Same with the wheels, probably. I thought about doing verde ithica calipers with black AMG lettering, but only once I get the wheels painted. The tails are going to be smoked lightly, but not too dark. Yep, I think it's coming together nicely as well. Just baby steps. I hate doing something and regretting it, so I'm taking my time. Should save me both money and patience in the end.

I'm undecided on how verde ithica calipers would look. I'd think it'd go better with a black car than your color, but I'm no expert.

My buddy Mark had a flint gray(ligher gray than mine) E55 with verde ithica calipers, and it looked great.

I plan on color matching the chrome accents just like on his car. I'll ask him how he did his headlights, they look killer.

thinking the ithica calipers only work due to the black wheels, having lighter wheels would not look well imo

I do like the smoked lights on the other car, they look sick.

I just picked up an 04 myself. Blk/Blk pano roof. Paid 19k for it. Went 12.1 @ 117mph stock with an upgraded intercooler pump. So far no issues w/ it and it's been a really fun and comfortable daily driver.

I was wrong on the heat exchanger.

Yes you should.... you wouldn't believe what a turd those cars are when the intercooler pump fails.... OMG.That why I ran a 13, lol. Replaced my stock pump with another stock pump, as it was going out. I have a Johnson CM30 pump a friend gave me. Probably won't install it until I get a heat exchanger, since I'm pretty sure you have to remove the bumper to install them both.
