I am looking at getting a bike. I have stumbled onto this. I found a dealer that still has 2009 models brand new, and they are selling them for $3100. What are your opinions on this bike? I was originally looking at a 600cc but this 500 should be enough for me. I am just a little guy of around 160 pounds. I am not buying it to go fast, more so to cruise, commute, and enjoy riding. Looking around at used bikes, I cannot even find a used one for that price. What are your general opinions on this bike? Anyone have one? Thanks

isn't the 500 the 'old' style of the ninja?

If you're going to have a dated looking bike, why not just buy a nice used 600 for around that price?

Im not even finding used 600s for that price. I figured I could ride it for a season and sell it and be out no money. Hell, I cant even find a used 500 that cheap.

There are many reasons not to buy a 500 But the main one is resale

You can buy a low mileage 500 woman owned that doesn't want it for 1000 to 1700 and ride it for a year and sell it for 1000 to 1700 hundred

If you buy one it will be worth 1000 to 1700 the next year .

I have a friend that bought a 2003 cbr 1100 xx blackbird for $4200

That will run with a busa but he got it to cruise

I see 250's selling for more than that everywhere. Hell, Im not finding 250's for much under 2k.

have you checked the kcsportbike classifieds? A friend of mine just sold his clean, low miles 03 r6 on there for 3,200. I would definitely go the 600 route, even if it is just for cruising. You never know when you'll need the power!
