I like the stance but the wheels look short. They look like 16s with all that sidewall but I'm guessing they are 17s?
Are you going to the Lake Ozark rotary meet on Saturday?

17s. All that tire is there for a reason. Nope have some beer to consume.

I assume to match the stock 18" tire height or are they even taller than that? Gas mileage (taller tire=lower rpm)? Just curious.

Love the look. They fit on your car awesomely.
EDIT: I love when people keep a little bit of rubber when they put after market wheels on their car. Rolling around on rubber-bandesque tires looks stupid

It does match stock 18'' height, and it for autox/road racing.

I think it looks great, awesome choice of wheel.
Only comment is it looks like you have more wheel gap in the front than the rear. Not sure if you are on coilovers or just springs. But if you could either raise the back or lower the front a touch it would look balanced.

If this car is for autox, I'm assuming he's on an adjustable suspension setup. Rakes don't do too much justice in the handling department

Are you going to run STX with it? The tires look like the XS; what size tire did you go with? I know you can go 265s per the rules but is there enough room to fit that size on the RX-8? Why did you go with 17s instead of 18s? Just curious... I know the RX-8s do well in STX but I haven't seen one run in person yet.

I am on springs, so can not adjust it. I am getting coil-overs though, but not till next season of autox. Reason i am waiting is cause I will be moved to a different class. I don't want that yet, so they can wait.

Yes STX. I went with a 245/45 tire. Lots of meat, and perfect for my car. I could go with a wider tire, but that is more modifying to the fenders. I don't want to do that. I had to roll them and trim pieces off of my fender liner to get these to fit.
I wanted to go with 17s instead of 18s for a few reasons. I love the look. Cost of tires. And I can transfer them to my FC without any problems with fitment.

Makes sense. If you run in KC, maybe we'll get to run against each other. I co-drive in STX occasionally and lately I have actually been thinking of buying my old 88 325is back to run in STX.

Tires do look a little too tall for taste (and I'm not a fan of rubber band tires) but overall I think the setup looks great.

Yup, for winter mode. Unless you have a good offer...?
But i do happen to know of a guy that is selling his 19x8 +47 stock R3 rx8 wheels... They are kinda expensive though.

Ha ya, a lot of people assume they are Rotas, they are Work Emotion CR Kais. I guess i should put them stickers on one of these days.

I was using a friends GoPro Hero camera with a suction cup mount. Cones leave marks that add character. They can just be buffed out.
