What up swolebros? Y'all should move mountains.
I went on my first real hike this past Sunday without even really understanding the magnitude of it at the time. It was a "14er," meaning its summit was above 14,000 feet above sea level. I'm hooked.
We did Quandary Peak, #13 of 58 total on the list of Colorado 14ers:

Our route was the East Ridge, not too difficult, not too easy:

Ascending the east ridge.

Maybe a little over halfway there.

(Most of the) final ascent from 13,100 ft up.

Snow? In July? FML

One of the Geological Survey markers at the top.

Didn't see any Missouri fans at the top, but there were many "Rock Chalk" greetings among a lot of the hikers we came across. Even saw a Northern Iowa fan, a North Carolina fan, and of course, Colorado fans. Camera's facing westward here.

Summit views, looking west.

Summit views, looking north/northwest.

Summit views, looking south/southeast, I believe.

And the ascent burned 1680 calories, despite my group stopping more often than I wanted to (paused the RK app when we stopped.) Unfortunately, my phone's battery died so I couldn't track the descent, but it was just as taxing as the hike up was. Here's the RunKeeper page for the ascent: http://runkeeper.com/user/TheRyanS/activity/41775151
The map's trail doesn't align perfectly with the trail pictured in the satellite view, but it's an ok approximation of our route. Total hike from the East Ridge trailhead and back was 6.75 miles.
Gonna dominate some more 14ers for sure when I get the chance.
