I had a conversation last night with some friends about favorite desserts in the area and just wondered what others thought. What's your favorite/best dessert in KC?

that's what i was going to mention. :)

also, the tiramisu at Lidia's is *amazing*. the espresso cake at Broadway Cafe is great too.

i'm not impressed at all with the cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory. its stale, over-priced, and all tastes and smells too similar. if you want good Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, you need to buy it from the frozen food section at Costco.

Bring your woman out sometime. I'll drag mine along and we'll all hit up M&S for some hot chocolate box eating.

If you just want some good cheaper ice cream at a parlor type place try Murray's in Westport. Beats the hell out of cold stone, Sherridans, and all that nonsense.

Melting Pot @ the plaza.

I'm glad to see someone finally mention it! Definitely a top 10.

Melted chocolate of your choice (along with options for peanut butter, amaretto, etc) and a plate of bananas, strawberries, pound cake, oreo covered marshmallows, cheesecake, and brownies.

Happy Hours is a dollar more then bigger citys such as Las Vegas & Chicago.

There Saki's are $2 rather $1.

Ruth's Chris has a Chocolate cake with like a liquid molten hot center that is AMAZING!! I also am a big fan of the chocolate bag at McCormick and the Hereford House has an awesome italian style bread pudding that if you get them to flambe it at table side it is a great experience!
