Last couple weeks been commuting 6 miles from 18th/Central KCK to Hospital Hill. Wasn't for the hills would be a piece of cake. And as of tonight two rides in the rain. Any other commuters on here?

I'd like to, but I'm too lazy to get up at 5 to ride 11 miles first thing.

I get up at 3:30a - 4a and ride around 5a and work a 12 hour day. 2 on 2 off though which helps not sure I could do it everyday.

I might start commuting to work. I just got a new job, and its only 2 miles or so from my house. I can drive there in 5mins or less, biking there would be no problem.

I can understand the shower bit even on my morning commute the sweat is pouring. Always could do the sponge or wet wipe method.

Back from the dead... sorry... I commuted via bike for 5 months a few years back. Luckily it was only a 5 mile ride.

I remember towards late Fall hating it... sorry about sucking down cold air that I hate. It just hurts to breath when it's cold out.

Nope. Work is 2 miles away or so.. not TOO hilly. Might have to if I can sell my car and can't find the one I want. It's better to.. for the environment and my health (it's not bad.. just preventative more than anything) but.. i dont see it happening lol.

Props for doing it :)

Too hilly too cold. Bah just got to get used to it. Took me a week before I could climb all the hills on my route, don't be afraid to walk it we all have to start somewhere. Still have to climb most of them in the lowest gear. Slow but I get there. Already rode 150 miles in another 150 miles I should be able to fly up those hills. Don't know about the cold yet I do plan on riding all year around.

Need to start taking a break though with my past heart condition and heat probably not wise. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel and how much more cash you'll have not filling the cars tank! I regret all the years I could of rode the bike instead of driving. In Springfield, MO my job and college was 1 mile the stores within 2 miles and the gym 4 miles.. man all the money I wasted on the truck.
