My friend who works at Scion/Toyota told me about this event Scion is having. You can get to drive the Scion FRS on a course. Check out the link to register and for more info. By the way it's free!
https://frskansas.eventbrite.com/ Also, if you can mention Cam sent you, that'll be great. |

I've been signed up for a while. I meant to post this on here last night but apparently got sidetracked. The cars are auto and the course looks to be slow based on watching YouTube videos, but it should still be fun.

i have driven a few of them on the street (6spds and auto) and it disappoints me to say that they are quite underwhelming.......

yes quite sure.....it only had two pedals and shifted on its own (unless i hit the paddle and told it to shift), pretty much tells me it was a auto......

to a point I would agree with you if you put all your money in power mods and trying to make a street car or drag car then a WRX would perform much at a much higher level than a brz/frs but I would be willing to bet that mod for mod dollar for dollar or basically in the same class on a track or autox course you could get a brz/frs to blow the doors off of a WRX. don't get me wrong I have my stg.2 STi and love the "power" but on an Autox track my STi feels so sluggish and heavy in comparison to the miatas and s2ks that the brz/frs will essintially be in competition with. but only time will tell it is only the first year of production and the WRX is being redesigned as we speak so who knows what will happen.

Just got back from this event - Got 2 laps - The cars are 6 speed autos, and you can activate the paddle shifters, though they kinda suck.
The chassis is amazing, light a very nimble - direction changes seemingly are ahead of the driver. Really shined on the Auto cross course at the PDC. I dont like: The auto transmission The engine is gutless: Read, the paper numbers bely how gutless it really is. The cars are outfitted with TRD springs, and Exhaust system. All in all, a good time, I wouldnt give 25K for one honestly. NachO
