Picked up this clean 1989 Isuzu pickup 2.3L M/T the other day.
Did a new clutch, doing a webber swap and some good tires, as well as a sweet black powder-coated canoe/ladder rack. Pretty excited to have something so nice as a beater. Truck has good A/C, and the inside is clean as a pin. ![]() I'll post up a few more pics as I get more done. Engine bay is going to look NICE once I get all this emissions junk pulled out, actually. Gotta love old-fashioned japanese truck reliability.

Oh yea! After the new tires are on, I'll be giving her a mild drop and some new shocks. It's torsion cranking and blocks, and I think a 3" will be plenty since the truck will be driven primarily by my girlfriend, and of course, by me anywhere I don't want to take my TrailBlazer.

That was my initial plan, but the damn thing is so clean I think I'll just wait till something bad happens and It needs a body panel replaced to plasti-dip the thing some sweet blue color.

Webber is going on this weekend.
Also going to do 3" blocks and re-index the torsions down a couple of inches as well. Nothing really low, just enough to improve the handling a bit. I need to get some shocks for it too so I can just do everything at once, not sure what to go with on those.

You might look for some used control arms or something, while free and easy to lower by turning the torsion bars it will ride like poop and be impossible to align it. Do control arms and turn bars a little with 3" blocks and remove a extra leaf for moar drop!

I'll just re-index the torsions, so they won't be turned any differently than stock. And just going down 2" in front and 3" in back, it will still be useful for everything I need to use it for. Which is towing my pop-up, hauling my canoe/kayaks, and getting my girlfriend from point A to point B without too much trouble.

I did a ghetto 5" front 7" rear drop on my $425 B2200. Other than the bottoming out it wasn't a bad ride at all. Cranked the torsion bars all the way down pretty much and removed 2 leafs and put in 3" blocks. Camber wear up front was hardly noticeable too. So I think doing a 2" drop up front will be no issue at all. Even without indexing them.

Did the Webber conversion yesterday.... Holy shit. It's like a BRAND NEW truck... Totally different to drive, better power, way better MPG's, and ZERO drama... it starts perfect, idles perfect, and drives out like a dream.
![]() Also eliminated a butt-load of emissions junk, so the motor actually looks nice too. I'll post some motor pics after I get er cleaned up a bit more. VERY happy so far, it's quiet as can be, and it doesn't whistle either. Likely the whistling was caused by the universal adapter plate not being trimmed down to match the intake manifold completely on my buddies truck.
