Default where do you?

I need some all season tires this year. Do you just say screw it and pay more for a shop or do you order online and pay a shop to install? If I can do all in one and pay a little more, i'm fine with that. I don't need to save $17 to have them delivered while spending $15 to drive to KC to have it done. I know there are people on here but, what do you do?

Call around for pricing on a specific tire that you want then compare to the overall cost. Think about how the service and warranty would be taken care of if anything should happen. I have dealt with online retailers because of a brand new tire issue that customers have sent directly to us and have us mount them. I don't have an issue with that but it just takes up time. Instead of hours to get a replacement, if we got the tires in town, versus days if we had to wait for shipping a replacement.

Not saying buying online is bad, just saying sometimes its an inconvenience.

I always buy from tire rack and take them to a shop. I have a personal "in" at one though so I am not sure about cost of install around town.

I've done both depending on the brand/type of tire I want to use. A ~$50 cost difference between the two ways isn't really a big deal to me.

that's kind of what I'm thinking as well. Unless I find a smoking deal online, i'll probably just hit up a tire shop.
