I've got a buddy who's also 25, single, similar credit and as far as I know an equally clean driving record, who just got rid of a 2015 BMW S1000RR that he bought new. He was paying 130~ month full coverage. Now has an H2.
Have you got a quote from his company? Something has to be throwing up a high rate, and it's either the bike or operator. I'd be happy to quote you through Foremost if you haven't already checked with them. Also, not sure where you're at, but bike insurance is quite a bit cheaper with a KS address vs. MO. If you're comparing rates with somebody across the line, it's apples to oranges. Feel free to pm me if you want me to look at it for you.

The streety's engine is more rev-happy and fun and the bike is lighter, thinner, and more flickable. IMO the only reason to get the Speed is if you're a bigger guy and you want a bigger bike so you don't look like a gorilla on a unicycle and you need the extra power because you're heavier .
Street. The Speed is a pretty sweet bike, but it's way the hell above my skill level.

.. I went ZX10R from 05 after they fixed the little generator issue.. great around town bike, very mild mannered in lower RPM, get it above 6 though and it's like someone strapped a rocket on the back and hit "ignite"

The Speed is more savage, no doubt. The Streety is just SUCH a better bike overall, though.

Let me know when you get one. I have lots of suggestions for mods for it that make it even better
