Trading Kelce because of his attitude would be stupid. That kind of shit can be addressed and corrected. Andy Reid is also a good coach for problem children like him.

As a non-chiefs fan, he is too into himself and out of control.

Dropping passes in key situations, then getting foolish penalties.

At the end of the day I wouldn't want to trade Kelce either.

I would rather have Rivers. And don't trade Kelce. He is obnoxious but when it comes down to it, is a great TE.

Don't agree with going after Rivers. Keep Alex Smith over him. Rivers fucks up in every game I watch the Chargers play it seems like. Plus, he's getting old.

No on Rivers, he is one the downward slope of his career. Hell Fucking no on Romo, dude is not good anymore.

Need a younger mobile QB with an arm, like a Tyrod Taylor or Deshaun Watson.

Look what Reid did with Mcnabb for 10 plus years.

Letís look at this yearís crop of free agents (the list comes via Over The Cap):

S Eric Berry: Itís not quite Justin Houstonís 22 sacks in a contract year but itís close. The Chiefs will have to overpay because they canít let Berry walk. He has them here.

NT Dontari Poe: Good player who does a lot but where do the Chiefs draw the line on spending on their defensive stars? I could argue the writing is on the wall here with the Chiefs drafting Chris Jones and signing Jaye Howard to a two-year deal last season.

DE Kendall Reyes: They picked him up midseason so he should be cheap or replaceable. I did like what he brought to the table in a depth role.

OL Mike Person: I donít think he played at all in KC.

DE Jarvis Jenkins: Similar to Reyes above. He brought some nice depth.

RB Knile Davis: His time in Kansas City has come to an end.

S Daniel Sorensen (RFA): Restricted free agent means the Chiefs control his rights. And they should absolutely bring Sorensen back. Heís the type of depth that has made this team so improved in the past couple of years.

WR Albert Wilson (RFA): 31 catches for 279 yards and two touchdowns last season (not to mention his fake punt touchdown). Because the Chiefs control his rights, I could see them bringing him back until they find someone better.

K Cairo Santos (RFA): Same as Sorensen. He should come back

I agree with what you said there. I do think that they will stick with Smith but who knows.

NT Dontari Poe: Gone, will get good money elsewhere (isn't even the best free-agent NT this year though, that would be Brandon Williams)

DE Kendall Reyes: probably a cheap 2 year deal

OL Mike Person: no idea who he is

DE Jarvis Jenkins: probably a cheap 2 year deal

RB Knile Davis: Gone, along with Jamal Charles

S Daniel Sorensen (RFA): easy, he will return

WR Albert Wilson (RFA): easy, he will return

K Cairo Santos (RFA): easy, he will return
again as an non-chiefs fan, this is what I see happening.

Chiefs fans, would you make a deal like this if presented to you?

Chiefs Trade the following players:
QB Alex Smith
RB Jamaal Charles
TE Travis Kelce
3rd round pick in 2017 draft

Cleveland Browns trade:
WR Josh Gordon (assuming he isn't suspended and can have his rights retained for cheap for next 2 years at least)
TE Gary Barnidge (why trade him? he is 9 years in and nowhere near as good as kelce).
Browns #12 pick in first round (browns have the #1 and the #12 pick in first round).

Chiefs draft Deshaun Watson if available at #12, roll with Nick Foles as he is under contract at $10.5 mil for 2017 (while not cheap, lower salary than Smith). If Nick Foles isn't the answer, than sign Tyrod Taylor for a year or an experienced QB.

would Chiefs fans consider that trade if offered?

No. Kelce is way more valuable in that deal than what you'd get back.

Crazy because I remember a time when TEs were just there to block. Now they are a huge scoring threat. Kelce is worth a #1 by himself.

Kelce is worth a 1st yes... but the chiefs would be unloading smith as well as receiving a top 20 WR (when not suspended), a top 25 tight end in barnidge who never has had a real QB throwing to him and a #12 pick.

Kelce's attitude, contract, and likeliness that he his going to be suspended in the future slightly downgrades his worth as well though.

Chiefs would be unloading a lot of bloated salary in the trade as well.

It would be dumb as fuck and would never ever happen.

Smith is still very valuable in this league. As much as I dislike that he is our QB there really are no good options out there. Which means a guy with the amount of regular season wins as Smith is still good for a high pick or two.

Charles is likely to retire or restructure just to play another year, absolutely no chance we try to trade him.

Kelce attitude is blow out of proportion. Oh no he turned around and pushed a guy that just pushed him. Yeah second guy gets caught. Not his fault a tiny little corner tried to push someone his size and he pushed a little harder back. He's still a top 2 or 3 TE and actually stays healthy.

Gordon is pretty much spent in the league. Barnidge is older and doesn't have a lot left even with someone quality throwing to him.

Like someone said in another thread, you seriously just make shit up and it's not even good.

Alex Smith sucks - the textbook definition of a game manager

Tyrod Taylor sucks - athletically gifted, but average qb

Deshon Watson sucks - poor accuracy, no way his body holds up to nfl punishment

dude you are high as fuck if you think Kelce's attitude is blown out of proportion.

dude has been fined what 2 if not 3 times already. Can't control his emotions, stated he would be a bigger star playing somewhere else, is constantly almost coming to blows with defenders when playing.

Didn't he also have issues in college as well? Didn't he get suspended for a whole year or something?

here is just ONE quote from NFL people on him:

As it turns out at his combine in 2013, a NFL evaluator called Kelce “a trainwreck-character wise.”

Smith is decent yes, but not 16-17 mil decent. The team literally cannot get over the hump with him as QB.

Charles is spent, his knee's are trash and he can't stay healthy.

Kelce is a first round talent with the head full of rocks.

Did you not see me ask what chiefs fans thought about a hypothetical type trade.

you simply looked at players in gordon/barnidge and didn't see the value of the #12 pick or the value of literally unloading like $60-80 mil in contracts between kelce/smith/charles.

I guess the chiefs can roll with all 3 and get stuck with a contract like Justin Houston has... you know where they gave him like $100 mil and he can't even play a whole season and disappears in big games.

still as minor as it is, a star player smoking anything that is considered "illegal" by the nfl/ncaa etc shows an area of concern. It happened right before a huge game as well.

The chiefs as well as they have played are approaching the top of the hill and will be trending downward next year.

Another year of Alex, without all the special teams scores and defensive scores will make it much harder to win 12 let alone 10 games.

Chiefs have aging stars in key spots: Charles, Hali, Smith, Colquitt (yes a punter, but one scheduled to make 3-4 mil), berry potential loss, poe loss, etc etc and very little cap room.

The Denver Broncos are taking from the Kansas City Chiefs and no it’s not Dave Toub. It’s his assistant. The Broncos reportedly hired Brock Olivo, who has been the Chiefs assistant special teams coach the past three years.

I dont disagree that Smith needs to go, there just are no good options out there unless we someone how get to a top 3 pick in the draft.
