Carbs have been under 150 a day for the past like 6 weeks, yesterday I had a bit of a fun day with some authentic Colombian arepa's, and two pieces of cake (chocolate and lemon pie).

Back to the real fun stuff.

Haven't been able to do any pressing movements for legs without some wicked knee pain. Could be a list of things.

Either way, leg day is more like.... glute/ham day.

Weight: 241

Only thing I've been lifting has been unlimited amounts of muffins into my mouth. I think I had 13,000 calories in 4 days from just muffins.

I've got a meet coming up towards the end of January so I'm beginning my peaking today. I've done 5/3/1 training the past 8 months.I'm not especially happy with it and will be switching back to a volume style afterwards. Here's my last set of squats today.

No video from yesterday's lifts. I caught a cold Sunday which came with a fever, so I wasn't able to lift then or Monday. I came into the gym expecting to take my benches at 325x3 for four sets, but after the first set, dropped the weight down to 315, which were only OK. I finished off with 290x3x4 for my rep work. I'm hoping that I haven't overestimated my strength and that I am just recovering, but we'll see how the next couple sessions go.

Deadlifts yesterday. Workout called for four sets of 505x3. I did the first set of 3 then knocked the ones after to sets of 2 reps. I followed that up with 4 sets of 455x3 on deads and some light squats.

Week 2 of meet prep. I worked up to three doubles at 460.

Something went wrong. Please make sure you added the video correctly.

Felt good enough. Oddly though, I walked out 435 for my drop down set and felt a pinch in my back. Did one double, rolled to stretch it out and attempted another set but called it after one rep.

Body weight was 220.6 this morning.

Hi guys, long time no see.

The last two years for me, since I moved back to KC, I've really just been a workaholic and getting to the gym mostly for maintenance. Just to get there. I'm sure I look the same as I did from 2-3 years ago. Just bought a place two months ago though and started going to OneLife downtown so I feel like I've got everything in place to start progressing. I've learned to not overcomplicate anymore and am making my own plan to stick with for a few months and try to progress on. In the last two years I have focused a ton on squatting and now it's ass to grass on every one. I'm not doing a ton of weight yet but I feel pretty great/comfortable about my form. I've also had a lot of minor 'injuries' in the last couple years that I go to the chiropractor constantly for. Don't know if it's my new bed in my new place but in the last couple of months, those seemed to have disappeared? So I've been eating and lifting pretty well.

Gonna start posting my workouts again, maybe I'll post a video of squats to see if I could use even more fine-tuning. Worked out with an army friend of mine who fixed them for me but that was only twice. I just know that I'm not hurting myself anymore and my legs have grown, so they can't be too terrible.

End rant, hopefully everyone else is hitting their goals

Been working on getting back into lifting. I can now do all my major compounds at home which is nice.

I've lost so much strength in the ~1.5 year hiatus, but that is to be expected.

One day I'd like to have to a home gym too, but maybe when I buy my next place Agreed though, just barely getting what little strength back that I had before.

Prices for new members are up to $60/month, so more expensive than Planet Fitness, but cheaper than a Crossfit gym. The hours are 5 AM - 10 PM, but you can come and go as you please as it isn't staffed. You get a door code to use the gym. I've been there for 3.5 years and quite liked it.

Picked out my first show.

Texas State Championships
Arlington, TX - Nov 5, 2016
https://www.texasbodybuildingcontests.com/

I'm not even sure how to go about entering, if anyone wants to guide me on it, feel free lol. It was located in Arlington last year, so I hope it stays there this year as I could avoid the travel and hotel expense.

Looking up the weight classes for the NPC National Qualifier shows, looks like I'll fall in the light heavy/heavy class. Who knows how much more lean mass I could put on in 10 months,

I guess I need to pose more and come up with a routine and music?
