Royals Announce Contract Extensions of Dayton Moore and Ned Yost The Kansas City Royals today announced contract extensions for Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager, Dayton Moore, and manager Ned Yost. Terms and length of Moore's extension were not disclosed, while Yost has agreed to an extension through 2018.

"You can't find an individual with a stronger work ethic or dedication to his craft than Dayton Moore," said Dan Glass, Royals' President. "He possesses all of the qualities you look for starting with his leadership, to organizational vision and tireless dedication to the position. Dayton also possesses the ability to get everyone working toward the same common goal, which is to strive daily to make this organization better."

"It's a privilege to continue to represent the Glass family, our organization and the great fans as the general manager of the Kansas City Royals," said Moore. "I'm proud of the culture and it's an honor to work alongside so many talented and dedicated people within this organization."

The extension of manager Ned Yost will assure that the winningest manager in franchise history will be at the helm for the next three seasons. He passed Whitey Herzog on the Royals’ all-time wins list (411) on June 18, 2015, with a 3-2 victory over Milwaukee. Yost also recorded his 900th career win on August 15 of last season with a 9-4 triumph over the Los Angeles Angels.

"We are extremely delighted that Ned will remain our manager through at least the 2018 championship season," said Dayton Moore. "It's an absolute joy and honor to work alongside him."

Royals looking pretty good tonight. Volquez looked very good in his 6 innings tonight.

I shut it off, I can't stomach a bullpen throwing a game away, fortunately they came through. At least someone needs to throw a pie in the face of that little punk Syndergaard Tues night. Hopefully there's some crazy fan out there...wussy.

I don't know if I would go as far to say he looked very good. His pitching was all over the place. It's the defense that made him look better than he was pitching IMO.

I feel like winning the World Series plus having them here for the ring ceremony is already a pie in the face

I'll take 2 hits and no runs from a starting pitcher any night

Doubt it bothers an arrogant punk like Syndergaard, it wouldn't surprise me to see him do the same shit tomorrow night as he did last fall.

Jesus, were you bullied as a kid or something? Every post you've made in this sub the past three weeks has been about Syndergaard. You're seriously probably the only person that gives a shit anymore.

Here in KC that's probably right. I city filled with little corporate conformist bots..a bunch of little do-gooder weasels out doing their walk for a cure with their pink bands on every weekend. Can you imagine if we would have done that to a mets player? Their fans would be on the war path all winter and spring.. As much as I hate NY, at least they got some balls as apposed to pussy whipped Kansas Citians. Ohhh but they're so smart and "tolerant"

And here I was proud of my city when a Raiders fan told me he went to a game at Arrowhead and he met some of the nicest people anywhere.

I realize different sports, but you get my point...

Arrogant bullies need to be dealt with and if he tries some crap tomorrow afternoon, which I wouldn't doubt, that will make my point.

Bullies will continue to be bullies until they are challenged and beaten (not literally beaten). He hasn't been challenged so will continue to be an arrogant bully such as will be seen this afternoon

Yes because literally winning the biggest contest in baseball against his team didn't send enough of a message that he and the Mets don't matter.

Scored some free tickets to this afternoon's game. Should be a good one.

wow that was a close game in the 9th inning. Davis looked very relieved at the end of the inning.

well, ticket prices should be dropping pretty soon. That's about the only positive thing from the Royals season so far.
