My only disappointment about tonight was that Tyler Self didn't hit that final three.

The flagrant 1. He was going full speed and basically got clotheslined. No real play on the ball. Even the announcers commented on it. I hated the last ten seconds because UCLA had so many fouls to give.

Clotheslined my ass. It was one of those stupid grab fouls a the end of the game and the theater major did a fucking Bruce Lee impression.

were you listening to it on MU's AM channel or something because on TV the only thing they said is that they might go look at the monitor and then during the slo-mo they agreed that he was going for the ball. For Pressey to spin and fly like that the defender would have had to grab his arm and pull back as hard as he possibly could, which you can clearly see, didn't happen. It was a good call at the end of a basketball game.

Pressey laying on the court for a minute after that looking around also gave me the inclination that he was trying/looking for more than what it was. Or he was surprised that he pulled off such an acrobatic feat with little to no help.

Yeah i couldnt find any comment about how Pressey was flagrantly fouled on any national media so it must have only been on HomerTiger.com's audio stream. This is all I could really find regarding commentary:

Quote:
2. After a masterful 37 minutes in which he dished out an SEC-record 19 assists, Missouri point guard Phil Pressey had a miserable finish in the Tigers' 97-94 overtime loss at UCLA on Friday. Pressey had four turnovers in the final three minutes of regulation and the extra period combined. And he was 0-for-3 from the field during that span. One of the misses came on a 3-pointer with Missouri trailing 88-86 with 32 seconds remaining in regulation. Pressey misfired on another 3 that would've forced a 97-97 tie with six seconds left in overtime. Pressey's crunch time meltdown was surprising considering how brilliant he'd been up until that point.

Sportscenter showed it a couple of times commenting on it, Dana O'Neill called it "15 yards in football for heavens sake", it fits the definition of an intentional or flagrant 1 per the rulebook, etc.

Regardless, if Missouri doesn't have problems making easy uncontested layups it doesn't even matter.

While everyone was watching Oregon and KSU, the Pac 12 refs were raping Colorado on ESPN U.

r/collegebasketball has a great thread on this plus awesome screenshots of the play. CU got screwed. No doubt about it.

lmao, i paused it at .2 seconds left and not only is the ball no where near him, the light has not gone off and the buzzer hasn't sounded. What a fucking joke of a call, fixed or not.

well since football is basically over, how do you guys see your teams doing so far?

I am kinda interested in seeing how K State will play today. Also excited to see OK ST play, especially on the road. Their stats aren't very good but they are pretty young and will get better. See how they respond to almost knocking off #10 Zaga (at home).

KU has surprised me but I know they are going to lose some games because of their 3 point shooting. If that goes cold, they keep shooting and shooting and shooting. All those athletes and they sometimes forget that they can penetrate and dish or score. They settle too many times for a contested jump shot. BUT, they are playing at an elite level right now, just hope they didn't peak too early.

MU is a good team IMO. They are scrappy and seem to never wear down. They will be dangerous come tourney time.

kind of sad that it's a top 25 matchup and they can't fill the seats at Bramlage. I know people went to the bowl game but damn.

Almost getting the zags was nice. Really wish they could have won that game. This team is really young and hopefully they all stick around for a few years and get this team back to the final four.

they look pretty good. A lot of talent but lack on the inside. Their defense isn't very good either. K State's pressure defense is killing them but they are going to beat some teams this year in the big 12, that's for sure.

There were 40k+ KSU fans in Phoenix. We drove straight through and got back at 5:30 am this morning.

Made sure my bro used my ticket and went with Karlen. I watched at home as I was too damn tired still.

Great win for the cats, hopefully Rodney can play with that intensity all season.

I guess I missed where it was empty? Look pretty full to me

Majority of the people that went to Fiesta bowl drove. Its an 18 hour drive. I got home and 6 this morning. Understandable even if it wasnt full.

Same thing happened for the conference opener last year against Mizzou.

I understand that and it was expected, just figured people that couldn't drive to Phoenix would take advantage of seeing 2 top 25 teams play at Bramlage.

KSU's defense was very stout and Rodney just made OKST his bitch in the 2nd half.

You could tell that OKST only plays with 8 players and had foul trouble, they looked completely exhausted at the end. Good win for KSU!!

You need to understand that 90+% (if not more) of Bball season ticket holders are diehard Fball season ticket holders. And to be honest, some people really dont give a shit about basketball until the football season is over.

I get it, trust me. Guess I didn't really think about the long ass drive and it only being 36 hours ago that they played.
