Before this season, I hated NBA basketball in general. Any team but the Warriors playing - and I still think it's as exciting as watching Golf or paint dry. I know I'm not the only other person that feels this way because ESPN commented on how they actually stay up late to watch basketball again.

Still a Golden State fan...

I think they should reconsider giving the mvp to a guy who only can play on one side of the ball.

So glad clev exposed him. I hope it will be the gameplan going forward for the rest of the league

Dude he had the greatest offensive season in the history of the game. And to say he can't play defense is laughable. He was one of the league leaders in steals, and GS plays so small to be able to have the offenseive power they did that there were often defensive mismatches. Curry defended LeBron on like 30 possessions last night and LeBron couldn't capitalize. Quit hating.

Pretty sure wilt averaged 55per, but steph hit some 3's so your probably right.

His defense is a joke. There is a reason he gets stashed in the corner gaurding the other teams andre roberson. His steals are nice but would mean a lot more if he wasnt a pure lane defender.

The reason he was caught in so many "mismatches" is because cleveland forced the issue. Trust me, they didnt have a floppy 3-2 iso in the playbook prior to this series. They exposed curry, they had to. It worked, most teams can't do that.

There have only been 2 mvp's who didn't play both sides well, nash and curry. I just don't like the trend. If 01 iverson wasn't unanimous, then no one ever should be.

I always have MORE respect for the smaller guys that can get shit done. Curry @ 6'3" 185lbs and Irving around the same. Brings me back to the Iverson days. Very entertaining to watch.

Curry 25 assists, 30 turnovers throughout the finals.

Can we just put to sleep any talk about Lebron being the goat?

So disrespectful to MJ

But LeBron has never had a first round exit. And he's been to 7 straight finals. MJ can't say that.

JK, I hate LeBron now.

Dude is putting up record numbers still and basically kept the team in the game. He doesnt have the support staff that Jordan had and GSW is a super team. They were a championship caliber team BEFORE getting two players deeper and adding Kevin Durant. Nobody is beating that team.

I still think Jordan is better but LeBron is easily in the top 5 but its really hard to compare eras, the game has changed a lot.

I have no problem with top five, but there's a real gap between number one and number two.

I'm not saying Jordan won every game, and that he never deferred a shot to a role player in the finals (Kerr's big shot comes to mind), but take last night's possession where he kicks it out to Love for a three, Love misses, and Durant brings it back down the floor and drains the go ahead three with a pull up jump shot over Lebron.

That would never have happened if Jordan had the ball. He would have driven in and dropped the bucket, or been at the foul line.

Lebron lacks the killer instinct that Jordan had, and he's paid the price in more than one game over the course of his career.

Lebron had played 46 minutes at that point and was over 30rd of the teams production. Dude was gassed, he wont admit it but he was gassed. He had only taken a 1:45 breather in the first half and in that brief period it went from a Cavs lead to a 10 point GS run.

Guy is pulling triple doubles against a great defensive and very deep team. The "gap" isnt that big. LeBron is, at worst, at Jordan's shoulders.

So at the point of the game where champions are made, Lebron is too gassed to win the game.

Weak sauce.

Sure, Ryan.

I grew up watching Jordan. Saw him play in person twice.

I've watched Lebron for his entire career.

Jordan is the GOAT. I'd say Kobe is #2, followed by LeBron.

Lebron is a crybaby bitch. I've never seen Jordan act like a punk ass bitch and make that pathetic facial expression Lebron makes every single time something doesn't go his way. A lot more than just going to the playoffs in the currently garbage ass Eastern conference when it comes to being the GOAT.

LBJ>*

Too big, too fast, too strong.

The game has evolved, yes, but LBJ gives you so much more of an all-around game.

Yeah...I guess MJ leading the league in scoring, MVPs, defensive player of the year but didn't have a great all around game

MJ kept the ball in his hands and won the rings. Lebron dishes it out and loses.

You can keep him.

jordan is a myth, the guy is fucking bill brasky thanks to nike. he might be top five, but i'm not putting him there.

lebron is a great player, he's not top 5 either. neither one hold a candle to the most unstoppable player in basketball history, Kareem.

All I want is the Warriors to smash Cleveland tonight and complete the sweep. Will be happy to see Cleveland lose and Durant get a ring

I think Draymond is a pile of shit, and Curry is right there with him, but I'm still rooting for them tonight so that another nail goes into Lebron's GOAT coffin.

I disagree.

His 7 finals appearances in a row already cemented his GOAT status. Not to mention the monster series when the y lost to GSW the first time they met in the finals.
Stay tuned, I've go a feeling there is a good shot at seeing this matchup again next year.

It doesn't change the fact that over his career. Lebron has deferred in situations where Jordan had closed the deal.

He's about at Jordan's chest, and a few good inches below his shoulders.
Also grew up watching Jordan. Jordan didnt do it alone, Pippen was there the entire way and he had multiple HOFers on every team for that. I still think he is the GOAT but I think at lot of the excess regarding his legacy comes from the whole "I grew up watching Jordan." People older would argue Oscar Robertson or Kareem and they would have legit cases.

Lebron stopped deferring a while ago, he learned that in Miami. And its not like Cleveland is stacked to the rafters. This last game he wasnt even given the option by Irving, who screwed up. Not that it would matter though, GSW is a superteam with Durant, you dont run the tables in the playoffs without it. They can afford anyone having a bad night.

As for the whole "too tired" or not making the big shot. Jordan was too tired to beat the Jazz, he stunk up a game against Seattle in 1996 and lost, Jordan isnt a god.

And that is where I am coming from. I still think he was better, but its much closer than people with rose tinted glasses want to admit. To them Jordan is a deity.
