Small update. Header's have the v-band's welded and are installed, intake is on, sensors are in, etc. Should be close to getting the front clip on this week/weekend and can start building some lines and getting ready to wire.

Gonna run on lunch and grab my belt and tensioner and make sure the accessories are aligned and good to go.

It's a '67 122S, slightly bigger engine than stock, same basic engine though, 4 speed manual.

It's aight but nowhere near as cool as a true split bumper car, nor anywhere near as easy to LS swap.

Here is Derek's car: http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...vo-122s-oskar/

I found that article after he bought it then we realized it was the same car.

Haven't updated in forever. Got the front clip set back on and the bolts started, need to get stuff aligned and tightened. Otherwise, I'm modifying the wiring harness and getting the stuff ready to go for the Dakota Digital and Vintage Air and all that. I also ran my LS harness, taped it how I want it, then pulled it out and loomed it with our ClassicBraid.

Have all my AN line and fittings on the way to build the fuel stuff and trans lines, along with Aeromotive fuel rails.

Also, my door panels and console came in, stoked how they turned out:

Only a few weeks to go, but I'm feeling pretty confident I can at least have it road worthy.

Shot a couple pics with my real camera and lighting to get some test shots for the mag wiring editorial I'm going to shoot.

These pretty Aeromotive rails and my steering wheel showed up as well. Glad to have some KC parts on the car. I have 42 lb injectors on the way as well.

Waiting on my ididit tilt column, hopefully it will be in next week!

Haven't updated this any.

Took the car for it's maiden voyage, went to the exhaust shop this morning to put the x-pipe and such on and it is currently getting aligned.

Lots of little bugs to work out but I'll work hard the next couple nights. Need to leave for Baton Rouge Thursday.

Where's the mullet shot?

That's pretty awesome, and I bet it felt good to take it for the maiden voyage.

This is a pre-mullet car man.

Also, after exhaust + alignment + Derek actually tuning it, this thing is awesome. Drives so smooth and does some pretty good peelers.

Gonna half-ass do what I can with the interior and get the AC charged up and call it ready.

Is it a factory air car or did you retrofit something? What kind of Condensor are you running?

Couldn't get A/C on the Z28 until '73 when they made like 42 hp.

It's a Vintage Air setup, which is pretty sweet. It runs the lines through the fender and then through the fresh air vent inside the fender where you don't see it. Then in the interior they come up through the kick panel which you modify as the car no longer has the pull vents being that it has AC.

The switch panel for it is slick too, and has an infinite variable fan.

Don't try to church it up, Dirt.

How well does the Vintage Air setup seem to cool? I am really, really contemplating that for my old pile of crap truck. The layouts seem to be really tidy with their kits.

I need to tighten the pressure line to the evap and charge it, then i'll know. However, I'd heard nothing but great things from everybody running one of their systems.

They're based in San Antonio, so you know they have plenty of heat to test their setups with.

Copypasta from Facebook for those FB friends with me, dealwithit.jpg

Made it to Baton Rouge with no issues beyond a fuel leak from the pump and/or sender gaskets on the tank. Pulled the tank, tightened the sender and pump bolts more, and tossed some aircraft grade RTV on sloppy mechanics style. We will see tomorrow if it still leaks.

Shout out to Holiday Inn Express for having nice rounded parking curbs, and shout out to Derek for wanting to bench press the tank.
