Default Ken Block ::::Climbkhana::::

Ken Block takes on Pikes Peak with 1,400-hp Hoonicorn V2

Climbkhana follows the Gymkhana format, but with twice the horsepower and much higher consequences lurking beyond the corners.
Perhaps growing bored with drifting an 840-horsepower car around closed city streets, Ken Block has brought a much more powerful Hoonicorn to the mountains for "Climbkhana: Pikes Peak."

To better handle the thin mountain air and nearly continuous uphill grade to 14,000 feet, the '65 Mustang-based Hoonicorn RTR V2 adds twin turbochargers to squeeze 1,400 horsepower from its 6.7-liter methanol engine.

"When I say that this is the absolute most frightening thing I've ever driven, I'm not exaggerating. AT ALL," said Block in a blog post last year. "The motor revs and spins my Toyo tires to destruction so quickly that I can't change the gears fast enough. It's genuinely a mind-numbing, crazy experience to try to drive this thing. It's amazing."

Naturally, Block's climb is interrupted by a few unique obstacles that prompt more drifting beyond the expected tire-shredding corners.

The rally-hardened driver's most impressive moment involves the rear wheels kicking up dirt just feet away from the steep unprotected drop that surrounds the infamous corner Devil's Playground. The same corner nearly killed Jeremy Foley and co-driver Yuri Kouznetsov when their Mitsubishi Evo slid off and rolled 1,000 feet down the mountain.

Hoonigan never fails to amaze. Holy shit.

I wonder what his HP number started at and ended at from the bottom to the top of Pike's Peak.

The "bottom" of pikes peak is still pretty high up, elevation wise. - I doubt it's much - boost is boost as long as the turbskies weren't maxed out to start, then it should just work them harder to make the same boost.

Cliff notes: More spins cause less molecules
