Default Solo WONDER WOMAN Movie Planned With Gal Gadot

As many suspected when the actress revealed she signed a three-picture contract to play Wonder Woman in the Batman/Superman movie, reports now confirm a standalone film is in the pipeline!

For years, Warner Bros./DC Entertainment have been the butt of every comic book movie joke when it comes to lesser-known characters being adapted before Wonder Woman gets her own film. Well, with Gal Gadot set to play the Amazon Princess in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, the Israeli actress revealed recently that she signed a three-picture deal with the studio. Now according to sources of Variety, they confirm that, in addition to the forthcoming Batman/Superman movie, "Gadot will play the role in a Justice League movie and a Wonder Woman standalone film," earning $300,000 per film. However, when considering the 10-month delay of the first movie on her contract, and not to mention Justice League, it may be umpteen years before Gal Gadot gets to fly solo as Princess Diana. Nonetheless, this news sort of pinpoints how Warner Bros. plans to dish out their many DC characters - releasing two superhero team-up films before the standalone movies - which is basically in reverse of Disney/Marvel Studios' ongoing master plan. What do you think?

Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, Batman Vs. Superman was scheduled to shoot in Detroit in February. Directed by Zack Snyder from a story by David S. Goyer and screenplay by Chris Terrio, the sequel is set for release May 6, 2016!

WONDER WOMAN Movie Reportedly Set In The 1920s

Gal Gadot's solo Wonder Woman outing may be set for release three years from now, but supposed details have already hit the net, indicating the movie will be very different from what most expected.

Warner Bros. confirmed just two weeks ago that Gal Gadot will indeed fly solo as Princess Diana in a Wonder Woman movie, after she debuts as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but alleged details for the 2017 solo movie have already surfaced. "I have been informed [...] that the film will spend the first half on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control," reports Bleeding Cool, who claims to have sources who have seen the greenlit Wonder Woman script treatment. "An arrival of a man (who is NOT Steve Trever) on the island changes that status quo, as he asks the Amazons for help." Apparently, Princess Diana will join the said man on his journey back to earth where a 1920s setting will be revealed. "And the film will then show Diana exploring that world...from her unique perspective." Furthermore, the site indicates that Warner Bros. already has plans for the Wonder Woman sequel to take place during World War II, and a threequel "would then take place in the modern day, with the Justice League Of America." These so-called details do not seem to line up with the curret DC Cinematic Universe plans, but if true, could this mean Wonder Woman will have been roaming earth since the 1920s when she's introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. What do you think?

Supposedly WB Has Offered WONDER WOMAN To A Female Director!

Lexi Alexander, who was the director behind Punisher: War Zone and Green Street Hooligans, told Forbes she heard Warner Bros. has offered Wonder Woman to another female director. Who do you think it could be?

Last month, The Hollywood Reporter mentioned Warner Bros. was actively seeking a female to direct their Wonder Woman solo film, which will star Gal Gadot ("Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"). Since then, many articles have compiled lists of women that should be considered. One of the directors that has frequented those lists is Lexi Alexander, who directed Green Street Hooligans and Punisher: War Zone. Forbes' Ellen Killoran recently chatted with Lexi and the subject of Wonder Woman came up. Lexi says she was never approached by Warner Bros., and that the studio has already made offer to another female director.
Alexander said that she has not been approached by the studio, and has discouraged her managers from throwing her hat in the ring. “I can’t say they wouldn’t consider me, but they haven’t reached out.” She said she heard Warner Bros. had been made an offer to another female director. "If she says yes, everybody will be very happy, including me,” Alexander said. “Still, I don’t see at this point why anyone would say yes. There is huge pressure … If [a female director] does fail, then all of a sudden it’s ‘all women suck at directing.’”
Who could it be? Forbes' Mark Hughes said Warner Bros.' shortlist included Kathryn Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight"), Mimi Leder ("Deep Impact"), Karyn Kusama ("Girlfight"), and Julie Taymor ("Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark"). Maybe it is one of the them?

Michelle MacLaren Emerges As Frontrunner To Helm WONDER WOMAN

We've been hearing that Warner Bros. are keen on hiring a female director for 2017's Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, but it has now been revealed that Emmy winner Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad) is indeed the frontrunner. That's not the full story though, so read on for details...

TV director Michelle MacLaren is the frontrunner to helm Wonder Woman for Warner Bros. reports The Wrap. Though it doesn't sound as if she's in talks just yet, the director - whose credits include Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead - is the studios top choice. The site goes on to reveal that, "There are several other directors in contention — not all of whom are female — but MacLaren has earned a spot at the top of WB's list thanks to her strong track record working in television." Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that, "sources say MacLaren has had several meetings with the studio regarding the project." Based on the fact that all of the trades are running with this story, it appears as if we may now know who will helm this released! Starring Gal Gadot (who bring the character to the big screen for the first time in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Wonder Woman is set to be released in 2017 ahead of Zack Snyder's Justice League. Rumour has it that the movie will be set in the 1920s, but no story details are known as of right now. Latino-Review were the first to report the news. What do you guys think?

It’s Official: Michelle MacLaren to Direct Wonder Woman!

It was just over a week ago that word broke that Warner Bros. Pictures was keen on signing “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead” director Michelle MacLaren to helm their long-awaited DC Comics adaptation Wonder Woman. Today, The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the deal is done! MacLaren will both develop and direct the solo film with Charles Roven and Zack and Deborah Snyder producing.
Gal Gadot is already set to headline Wonder Woman with the character planned to make her first cinematic appearance in 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She may even make additional appearances across DC’s new cinematic universe before her solo film sees release on June 23, 2017. It’s pretty much a guarantee, too, that Wonder Woman is also going to play an important role in Justice League, Part 1, hitting theaters November 10, 2017.
Recent rumors have suggested that, as a franchise, Wonder Woman is being targeted for development as a trilogy with the first film planned to take place in the 1920s, revealing Themyscira’s first encounter with the outside world and Wonder Woman’s own experiences with a USA that still had a lot to learn about equal rights. Then, it is alleged, a sequel would take place in the 1940s and will be set against the backdrop of World War II. A third film, then, would finally bring Wonder Woman’s solo adventures to a contemporary setting. Take all of that with a grain of salt, however.
MacLaren’s directing credits also include episodes of “Game of Thrones,” “The Leftovers” and the upcoming “Breaking Bad” spinoff “Better Call Saul”. She’s also well-known for serving as co-executive producer on the final two seasons of FOX’s “The X-Files”.

Screenwriter Says WB Actually Writing Six WONDER WOMAN Scripts

Arash Amel says Warner Bros. didn't just hire Jason Fuchs (Pan) to write their Wonder Woman movie but they've hired five other writers to pen separate scripts. Is this a tactic that will help produce the best Wonder Woman movie possible or are WB making a mistake?

Producer/screenwriter Arash Amel, who wrote Erased and Grace of Monaco, and is currently scripting the Marie Colvin biopic has shared on Twitter that he's heard an intriguing bit of gossip regarding WB's Wonder Woman movie. Reportedly, Warner Bros. has hired not one but six screenwriters to write six, separate Wonder Woman solo films. Presumably, WB will then pick the best script or pick the best elements from each for Michelle MacLaren to direct. Amel views this practice with disdain (as any screenwriter should) but as comic book fans, hoping for the best Wonder Woman movie possible, what's your take on this tactic?

Someone just told me six writers have been hired to simultaneously write six versions of Wonder Woman movie. WHAT?
— Arash Amel (@arashamel) December 18, 2014
Worrying trend of simultaneous dev on major franchises growing. This is wrong on so many levels.
— Arash Amel (@arashamel) December 18, 2014
I'm sure Hollywood screenwriter's career will soon resemble the sweatshop that makes tennis shoes for Nike.

Michelle MacLaren Will Reportedly Shoot WONDER WOMAN With Gal Gadot This Fall

A report on Gal Gadot joining the cast of Greg Mottola's Keeping Up With The Joneses reveals when the actress is set to shoot her solo Wonder Woman movie for Warner Bros., after first appearing in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

In their report on Gal Gadot joining the cast of Greg Mottola's Keeping Up With The Joneses as Diana Jones, Deadline offer an update on the Fast Furious actress' upcoming role as a certain other Diana. Last we heard, director Michelle MacLaren (Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead) actually didn't officially have a green light from Warner Bros. to shoot the solo Wonder Woman flick and was still working out the script with Pan screenwriter Jason Fuchs.

Well, evidently that's changed, as the site reports that cameras are set to roll on the movie this Fall with a June 2017 release date in mind. Zack Snyder recently shared our first look at Aquaman from Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, so perhaps another official image of Gal Gadot as Princess Diana is not far away.

WB's WONDER WOMAN Movie Loses Director Michelle MacLaren

Just a few minutes ago we learned that Marvel gained a couple of writers for their first female-driven superhero flick, and now it seems Warner Bros. has lost the director for theirs! Apparently Michelle MacLaren has left the project due to "creative differences". Click on for more...

Well, this sucks. Fans were overjoyed when Michelle MacLaren (Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad) signed on to helm Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman, but now THR reports that she has decided to leave the projects. The studio gave the following statement: "Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together." We found out earlier that Marvel is most likely seeking a female director for Captain Marvel... could DC's loss be that studio's gain? No word on whether this will affect the film's 2017 release date or not, but we'll update if and when any more information becomes available.

Original THOR 2 Director Patty Jenkins To Helm WONDER WOMAN For Warner Bros.

Well, that didn't take long! Less than 48 hours after it was revealed that Michelle MacLaren had parted ways with Warner Bros. over Wonder Woman creative differences, the studio has replaced her with the woman who was originally set to direct Thor 2. Hit the jump for details!

Two days ago, it was revealed that Michelle MacLaren had parted ways with Warner Bros. due to "creative differences" about their respective ideas on how Wonder Woman should be portrayed on the big screen. There have since been rumours about that being down to everything from the period setting to talking tigers, but regardless, the studio has already found a replacement!

That will be Monster helmer Patty Jenkins, a woman who is no stranger to creative differences after parting ways with Marvel for that very reason a few years back when she signed on to direct Thor: The Dark World. The deal has already closed apparently, so if those Angelina Jolie rumours are true, perhaps she decided to pick Captain Marvel over Wonder Woman! You have to imagine that Warner Bros. would have faced some backlash if they'd gone for a male director after MacLaren's departure, and Jenkins is a solid choice. Maybe Marvel will nab MacLaren for Captain Marvel now?

hris Pine In Talks To Play 'Steve Trevor' In WONDER WOMAN

More major comic book movie casting news for you today as Variety has revealed that Star Trek and Jack Ryan's Chris Pine is in talks to take on the role of fan-favourite character Steve Trevor (Gal Gadot's love interest) in Wonder Woman! Hit the jump for further details...

Wonder Woman has a love interest! According to Variety, Chris Pine is in talks to join the cast of her movie as Steve Trevor. There were obviously rumours that Scott Eastwood would be playing that character, but the site adds that he was given the choice to test for that role or take on a guaranteed supporting part in Suicide Squad. As an up and coming young actor, it's fair to say he probably made a smart choice there, but there's still no word on who he is playing in the DCCU.

Patty Jenkis is directing the 2017 movie which was written by Jason Fuchs. In the comics, Trevor was Wonder Woman's love interest in World War II, and when that was retconned, he was her love interest in the present day and also the go between for the Justice League with the United States government. There's no word on which version we'll see here. Pine is obviously best known for the Star Trek franchise, but was also recently seen in Into The Woods, Horrible Bosses 2, and Jack Ryan.

Zack Snyder Says WONDER WOMAN Is The "Gateway Drug" To JUSTICE LEAGUE

It sounds like Wonder Woman's role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be even bigger than any of us previously imagined based on new comments from director Zack Snyder. Gal Gadot meanwhile weighs in on the pressures of transforming herself into the Amazonian warrior...

As Entertainment Weekly rightly points out, there hasn't been a single superhero movie released featuring a female lead since Iron Man and The Dark Knight rejuvinated the superhero movie genre in 2008. That's all set to change with Wonder Woman in 2017 of course, but we'll meet her for the first time in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, brace yourselves for more than just a cameo appearance from the character. "She plays a super-important part," says director Zack Snyder. "In a lot of ways, she’s the gateway drug to
the rest of the
Justice League."

That sounds huge, but Gal Gadot didn't let the pressure get to her though (at least not at first). That was mainly because she went into the audiotion with no idea that she was up for the role of Wonder Woman. In fact, Snyder had her read a scene from Pulp Fiction! "I knew [the role] was big and it was for one of the franchises. He said, ‘Well, I don’t know how big she is in Israel…’ and my jaw just dropped. There are so many expectations for this character, it’s impossible not to
be a little nervous about it." As for the training needed to transform Gadot into the iconic DC Comics character, she tells the site that she relished the opportunity. "I love doing the swordplay stuff. It’s another skill to add to my collection." The lasso? "I’m still
working on that." What do you think?

Chris Pine Officially Joins The Cast Of WONDER WOMAN; Find Out Who He's Playing Here

Some time ago, we heard that Chris Pine was in talks to join the cast of Wonder Woman as Steve Trevor. It was then reported that that was all a smokescreen to hide the fact that he's Green Lantern. Well, The Wrap has the scoop on his deal, and you can find out who he is right here...

The Wrap reveals that Chris Pine has now closed his deal to join the cast of Wonder Woman as...Steve Trevor. Those Hal Jordan/Green Lantern reports were obviously incorrect then, but it still sounds like the Star Trek actor is going to play a major role in the DC Cinematic Universe because his multi-picture deal also includes sequel options. The site goes on to point out that, "Steve Trevor will be no mere love interest for Gadot’s Diana Prince, as there will be plenty of action to keep him busy." In the comics, Steve and Diana embark on a romantic relationship after he crash lands on Themyscira, and he later becomes the Justice League's government liason...even after the two have broken up! How much - if any - of that will make it to the big screen remains to be seen.

Oscar Winning VFX Supervisor Joins WONDER WOMAN Team

Wonder Woman was thrown into chaos for a while when Michelle MacLaren parted ways with Warner Bros. over "creative differences", but was quickly replaced by Patty Jenkins. Now, the 2017 release has attracted an award winning VFX Supervisor, so hit the jump for details...

Wonder Woman will apparently begin shooting as early as this Fall in London, and while Gal Gadot and Chris Pine are currently the only confirmed cast members, a very interesting behind the scenes addition has been made to the movie according to Variety. The trade reports that Bill Westenhofer is going to serve as the VFX Supervisor, and while this normally wouldn't be a major piece of news, his past credits make this worth getting excited over. Westenhofer won Oscars for his work on Life of Pi and The Golden Compass, and was also nominated for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He's currently hard at work on Duncan Jones' Warcraft too. Could the fact that each of the movies listed about have included photo-realistic animals or monsters be an indication about what we should expect to see in Wonder Woman? We'll have to wait and see...

Intriguing WONDER WOMAN Filming Location, Working Title And Cinematographer Revealed

As the headline suggests, new developments on the Gal Gadot's solo outing as the Amazon Princess in Wonder Woman have revealed a beautiful new filming location in addition to London, as well as an Award-winning cinematographer, plus the movie's working title. Check it out!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is just seven months away from its highly-anticipated release, and Suicide Squad just wrapped principal photography. Therefore, Warner Bros. is now readying production on Wonder Woman, which is the fourth movie of the studio's DC Extended Universe. The Patty Jenkins-directed adaptation is scheduled to shoot primarily in London this fall, but new developments have revealed a secondary filming location as well as the director of photography.

According to Meet The Movie Press, Hoyte Van Hoytema will serve as the director of photography on Wonder Woman. The Dutch-Swedish cinematographer is best known for his work on Academy Award-winning films Interstellar, Her, as well as The Fight, and he just recently wrapped on Spectre.

Meanwhile, Askanews is reporting (via Yahoo) that Wonder Woman will eventually shoot scenes in Basilicata, Italy, in addition to the U.K.. The Gal Gadot-starring movie, which is said to take place during World War I, will likely take advantage of Basilicata's unique and ancient stone structures.

Finally, Production Weekly has revealed that Wonder Woman will be known as Nightingale during its production. This could be an indirect reference to the DC supervillain of the same name, aliased Seiji Kato, who first appeared in the "Wonder Woman #317" comic book. Another version of the character also appeared on the '70s Wonder Woman television series portrayed by Joel Fabiana. Or perhaps, the working title is referring to Florence Nightingale, who was the founder of modern nursing among other things during the Crimean War which is when Wonder Woman may occur. Anyhow, directed by Patty Jenkins, the Amazon Princess' solo outing stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince) and Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), and is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017. What do you think?

RUMOR: 'Wonder Woman' Timelines Revealed?

During a panel for the See Jane Salon Power event in Los Angeles, producer Deborah Snyder mentioned that Wonder Woman will begin principal photography in London this November.
Wonder Woman is the most popular female comic-book superhero of all time. It's exciting the Amazonian Goddess is finally getting her just cinematic due next year in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice followed by her own standalone film in 2017.
Not much is known about Wonder Woman other than the casting of Gal Gadot and what we have seen in the trailers for Batman v Superman. The standalone film will be directed by Patty Jenkins after Michelle Maclaren dropped out.
Last fall, Bleeding Cool did a story saying the Wonder Woman standalone film will take place during the 1920s with later sequels taking place during World War II and then modern day. Well, according to my sources here in Hollywood that is not exactly true.
The latest rumor I am hearing is the first half of Wonder Woman standalone film will actually take place during World War I. Again, World War I not II. The second half of the film takes place during modern day.
Because of the intense secrecy surrounding most DCEU films at the moment, this latest bit gets the rumor stamp pending further confirmation. With Wonder Woman rumored to be at least 200 years old during the events of Batman v Superman, it is within the realm of possibility that Diana was around during the first World War.
Wonder Woman will be the first solo DC film following Batman v Superman and will drop in theaters on June 23, 2017.

RUMOR: Sean Bean And Eva Green Up For Villain Roles In WONDER WOMAN

As Patty Jenkins and co. prepare to shoot the solo Wonder Woman movie in London this November, we might just have some details on the bad guys Gal Gadot's Diana will be taking on, and which actors are in the running to play them. More past the jump...

Fans have been wondering which comic book baddie Wonder Woman would be going up against in her solo movie outing, and now we might just have the identities of not 1 but 2 VERY powerful villains that are bound to cause all sorts of problems for the Amazonian Princess - plus, we might know the actors that are on Warner Bros.' radar to play them.

Heroic Hollywood's El Mayimbe just appeared on the Source Fed Nerd YouTube show and dropped the following info: According to him, Sean Bean (Game Of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings, Jupiter Ascending, Troy) is looking to add yet another legendary Greek character to his repertoire, as he's being looked at for the role of Ares, the God of War. Plus, none other than Eva Green (300: Rise Of An Empire, Dark Shadows, Casino Royale) is wanted to play long-time Wondy foe, Circe the Sorceress. Fans of Green's work on Showtime's Penny Dreadful will be well aware of what she could potentially bring to that role.

Pretty great choices for those characters I'm sure you'll agree, but of course until we hear a bit more about this we'll have to treat it as a rumor. Would you be happy with those particular villains? Sound off below.

RUMOR: These Are The Three Time Periods WONDER WOMAN Will Take Place In

Remember those reports that the Wonder Woman trilogy will see each movie take place in a different period of time? Well, it seems the plan has drastically changed, and you can find all the details about what to expect from the Patty Jenkins helmed movie after the jump...

While we'll meet Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman for the first time in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, very little is known about what we should expect from her 2017 solo outing. Well, Den of Geek claims to have the scoop on the time periods that her movie will take place in, and it appears as if Warner Bros. are now planning on exploring Diana Prince's adventures through time in just the one release instead of three. Apparently, it's likely that each act of the movie will take place in a different time period (which could be a total mess if not handled well), and those are as follows:
The first setting will be Themyscira, the idyllic island Wonder Woman has called home since her adventures began in the 1940s. The second period is World War I - the specific year we've been given is 1916, which places it right in the middle of that conflict. The movie will then move to the modern day, where it will tie into the events of Justice League Part One, out at the end of 2017 and also set to star Gadot's Wonder Woman.
This is an interesting decision, but one which makes more sense than having two movies stuck in the past and not moving into the iconic hero's present day adventures until the early 2020s! With Wonder Woman set to be released before the first Justice League, using this one to help set up the events of that in some way should work pretty well, but we're going to have to wait and see.

Will *SPOILER* Show Up In WONDER WOMAN?; Heavy New Plot Details Revealed

Only about a year and eight months remain before Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman receives her first solo feature film! A new report has been released revealing with it a ton of very interesting plot details as well as revealing a potentially very intriguing cameo! Come check it out!

Next year, Diana Prince will make her long-awaited big-screen debut in Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and as a follow-up, in 2017, Wonder Woman will become the first female superhero since Elektra to receive her own solo adventure as the DC Extended Universe expands its horizons.

Not much is known about her solo feature yet, outside of some potentially fabricated rumors, but what we do know for sure is that Gal Gadot (Fast Five) will be portraying Princess Diana, Chris Pine (Star Trek) has been cast as Steve Trevor, and Patty Jenkins (Monster) is directing with a script from Jason Fuchs (Pan).

Well, it looks like it's about that time to throw some more kindling onto the fire. A new report, which just to be safe should likely be labeled as a rumor, from JoBlo has revealed a ton of potentially interesting details about Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman film. First off, the film will take place in two key timeframes: World War 1 and then Modern Day. It's said to follow the comic book extremely closely with the report even going as far to describe her as the Thor of the DCEU.

As for adversaries, Circe and Ares will in fact be the villains of the picture with Ares acting more of a "puppet master" and working with Circe behind-the-scenes. Ares will don his classic mythological armor, while Circe will wear a cloth-based purple outfit. No word on casting frontrunners yet, although it's probably still a tad early for that. Additionally, get ready to see a ton of mythological/mystical creatrues throughout the course of the film and to raise things to another level, at one point, Ares will unleash an army of red or green demonic monster beasts with the full horns/wings package to keep Wonder Woman from stopping Circe. Also, Circe, who will primarily be rooted in sorcery, will transform into a Chimera-like monster during her final battle with Wonder Woman. Now, that's pretty heavy.

As for the plot, it sounds like it'll be fairly basic, more or less following the story of Diana & Steve in modern day trying to stop Circe, who with the help of Ares, is in the process of manipulating high-level government officials into starting World War III. The story will shift to the World War I era when Diana shares with Steve details about her first battle with Ares and how she defeated him. It's unclear whether the story will be told at the beginning of the film or whether it will be told as a flashback later on.

The Invisible Jet will be present to some extent, but won't be used too frequently as the film's focus is expected to primarily be on its fight sequences. The Jet's major scene will be when Diana & Steve leave Paradise Island for the first time. Also, for those of you wondering, the Invisible Jet will not show up in Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Okay, are you done digesting all of that? Let's hope you are, because here's where the report gets really heavy. Like Suicide Squad before it, Wonder Woman will also take place a few months before the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Why WB/DC is opting for this prequel-esque direction with their universe's solo features is a bit uncertain, but it should be interesting nonetheless.

And on a final note, it sounds like the Batman will have at least some sort of presence in Wonder Woman. This doesn't necessarily mean Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) will show up in the film as the Dark Knight's appearance could simply be a quick obscured shot of him observing from a roof or somewhere similar. He'll witness Wonder Woman in battle against Ares and will also see her rescuing civilians. Following the film's finale, the Batman will approach Wonder Woman, whether this is in a post-credits sequence is yet-to-be seen, but by the end of the film, he will have let her know that he's aware of her existence and will have formed some sort of relationship/alliance with her, which will directly lead into the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

More ‘Wonder Woman’ Rumors: Is It a ‘Batman v Superman’ Prequel?

61
SHARES
TwitterFacebook

Wonder Woman is just a few weeks away from the start of production, and there still isn’t a whole lot we know about it. It’s confirmed that Gal Gadot and Chris Pine will star for director Patty Jenkins, and that it’s opening on June 23, 2017. Warner Bros. has not said a peep about when it will take place, or what it will be about, or how it’ll fit in with the rest of the DCEU.
So until they do, the rumor mill churns on. Today’s big, juicy, take-it-with-a-fistful-of-salt report purports to answer all of those questions, plus questions you might not even have gotten to yet, like “Will the invisible jet make an appearance?” and “Which other big DC character is making a cameo?”
JoBlo is the source of the latest Wonder Woman rumors. They go pretty deep into the rumors, so we’ve just compiled some of the main points below. Two things to keep in mind: Everything below is based on their report, and should be taken as rumor not fact, and some spoilers may lie ahead. Got it? Okay, good. Let’s get to it.
When does Wonder Woman take place?
Some of it in World War I, more of it in the modern day. Although by “modern day,” we mean “a few months before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Yep, it’s a prequel.
What is Wonder Woman about?
Steve Trevor and Wonder Woman trying to stop Circe and Ares from starting World War III in the present day.
What is Wonder Woman like?
Super mythological — “the Thor of the DCCU,” apparently. Expect Ares commanding an army of winged demons, Circe turning into a Chimera-like monster, stuff like that.
Will the invisible jet be in the movie?
Yes, but not a ton. One of its jobs will be getting Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor off Paradise Island.
How about another Justice Leaguer?
Yep. Batman will cameo at some point in the middle of the movie, and then meet her after the finale. That’s when they establish the relationship that brings her into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
That’s the quick and dirty rundown. For much, much more, including info on what the villains’ plans are, what their costumes will look like, what Batman’s doing, and when we’ll see the invisible jet, click over to JoBlo.

Chris Pine Is "Super Excited" To Join WONDER WOMAN

For the first time since he signed on as Steve Trevor, Star Trek star Chris Pine talks here about joining the much-anticipated Wonder Woman movie opposite Gal Gadot and also why he's excited to be a part of this particular DC Comics adaptation. Check it out after the jump!

It's been three months since Chris Pine reportedly signed on as Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie, but now the actor has finally confirmed his casting and also revealed why he's excited to be joining the long-awaited DC Comics adaptation. The Star Trek Into Darkness star was speaking with French magazine Premiere.Fr, so the following translation is courtesy of Batman-News and Google.

"I do not really know what I'm allowed to tell you," he said. "I'm super excited, of course. Gal Gadot is super talented, Patty Jenkins will direct, and we will shoot in film." Pine added, "What excites me most is to work in a movie with a superhero woman. With a woman in the lead role. I am teamed with this intelligent, beautiful, strong woman to defeat the villains & save humanity."

Possible SPOILERS Regarding The Villains' Motivations In WONDER WOMAN

You've heard the rumor that both the God of War, Ares, and Circe the Sorceress would feature as the antagonists in Patty Jenkins' solo Wonder Woman movie, and now we might just have some details on what brings Diana into conflict with them. Possible plot SPOILERS ahead...

Here we have some pretty major details on how the plot of the solo Wonder Woman movie could well play out, specifically in regards to the villains of the piece and what drives them.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Ares will be the chief baddie, using Circe as a pawn to get what he wants: an ancient Amazonian sword so powerful it could make him the God among Gods, and allow him to take over Olympus. Apparently his aim is to start World War III in order to feed off of the energy generated by the massive amount of death and destruction that would result, giving him enough power to gain possession of the sword. Ares sends Circe to keep Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) busy, changing human men into beasts as she goes, and herself becoming a Chimera for the final battle.

There's also a mention of a certain Caped Crusader, who might just be watching things unfold from a distance. The theory is he'll confront Wonder Woman about what happened when he meets her in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which will see Diana searching for the lost sword.

There's more at the link below so be sure to check it out. What do you think of these details? Sounds pretty cool to me, but of course even if all of this was accurate at one time, it's always subject to change. Sean Bean and Eva Green were rumored to be in the running to play Ares and Circe, but we haven't heard anything solid since.

First Wonder Woman Cast Photos, Said Taghmaoui Joins Cast

Lost and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra actor Saïd Taghmaoui has apparently joined the cast of Warner Bros.' forthcoming Wonder Woman movie, as evidenced by the fact that he seems to be posting photos from the set to his Facebook account.
Besides the revelation that Taghmaoui will appear in "Nightingale" -- the shooting title for Wonder Woman, and a sign seen behind him in one of the photos -- will likely be secondary to the revelation that it looks like Chris Pine's character will play the role of Marvel's Agent Carter -- a major supporting character who looks like his story will take place in the past.
Wonder Woman has long been rumored to be either a period piece, or a film that takes place both during the first half of the Twentieth Century and in the modern day. Since the title character is immortal and mystical, and since in some versions of the comics her mother preceded her as Wonder Woman, that rumor has always felt plausible, but the nature of the clothing worn by Pine and Taghmaoui feels like a confirmation.

Saïd Taghmaoui Talks WONDER WOMAN Role; Is He Playing A Superhero?

Hit the jump and check out what the newest addition to the Wonder Woman cast, Saïd Taghmaoui, has to say about his role in Princess Diana's highly-anticipated solo outing, how that role came about, what he had to endure in preparation, and also how long shooting will last.

It wasn't until Saïd Taghmaoui had posted (and later deleted) our first Wonder Woman set images that we even knew the French actor had joined the supporting cast. However, thanks to keen eyes on Twitter as well as Google Translator, it appears the American Hustle star had actually revealed his inclusion in the long-awaited DC Comics adaptation to French magazine Ultra's October issue.

When asked what role he will be playing in Wonder Woman, Taghmaoui apparently said, "I'll be playing a superhero, but details are still under wraps, so I can't tell you much." We should note that this translation is a bit rough, and Saïd could have actually said he'll be playing one of the good guys as opposed to a supehero or a villain. Regardless, he was then asked how he had landed the mystery role, to which he credited good luck and hard work. "I was among hundreds of potential candidates, and I slowly became the favorite," he said. "It wasn't easy. It took me three months. [I'll have to go through] extensive physical training. Shooting was slated to begin in November, and will take about 6 months, in 4 different countries." Who do you think Taghmaoui is playing?

Directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Jason Fuchs, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Saïd Taghmaoui, and maybe Nicole Kidman, with a release date that's scheduled for June 23, 2017.

Possible WONDER WOMAN SPOILERS Regarding 'Steve Trevor' & Those Set Pics

When we saw Chris Pine decked out in World War I garb in those recently released images from the Wonder Woman set, we figured Steve Trevor must only feature in the portion of the movie that's set in the past. Well, there might just be something else going on there...

Fans were disappointed when these Wonder Woman set snaps seemed to confirm that Steve Trevor would only factor into the World War I portion of the movie, but it turns out Chris Pine might actually be playing dual roles - and that wasn't Steve Trevor all, but his grandfather!

According to Heroic Hollywood, it'll be the dear ol' granddaddy that helps Gal Gadot's Diana defeat Ares in the past before passing away (they don't specify if he's killed in battle or not), and then when the time-frame shifts to present say she'll encounter his grandson, Steve, and he'll team up with her to take on Ares once again.

If this is true, obviously Steve will look identical to his grandfather, which is a well-worn (and rather silly) plot device that's all but been phased out of movie's in recent years. What do you guys make of this rumor? Wonder Woman hits theaters June 23, 2017.
