Default Weight loss question's

So my wife and i have decided to get back into shape. We were both in the military and in great shape,now that we have been out and have a family we have started to gain weight. Our main issue was what we eat, we have started to buy more healthy foods and have started to work out. We take our boys for a 2.7 mile bike ride everynight, and she does interval training in the morning. We have also been working out on our weight bench . She wants to tone her abs,butt,thigh's and triceps what would be a good work out regiment for her? Myself on the other hand mainly need to lose weight around my mid section, i was scared to do any type of ab workout because of my multiple hernia surgeries. My goal is to tone my upper body and lose my "beer gut " Any of you guys/gals have a strict routine that can help us out? I know about shocking my muscles and resting them also but i am so far out of the loop, i am kind of lost. please help lol. Also is there ANY, supplements that will stimulate our weight loss goals?

The best advice I can give, is to keep track of what you are eating and what you are doing for a workout. It is simple math. You have to work off more than you are taking in.

I started monitoring what I was eating earlier this year, and have recently started doing it again. I would recommend the my fitness pal app - it makes it easy since you have your phone with you all the time. Keeping track of what you are eating will allow you to eat some unhealthy things, but will keep you in line. As for losing fat in certain areas, unfortunately it does not work like that. You can build muscle tone in certain areas, but fat will come off from all over. I am sure that more people will chime in with more specific advice. Different things work for different folks, but I have to keep track some how. I don't want to starve, but I don't want to work out 4 hours a day and not see results.
