Default Concert Shots - Aerosmith - Sprint Center

Not bad for a soundboard shoot! These guys have a ton of energy this early in the tour. Full gallery here

Your photo pass didn't allow you to shoot down front in front of the crowd?

Nope, Aerosmith's rules are shooting from the Soundboard. A lot of major acts are that way. Madonna, Springsteen, just about everyone I can think of that is that big. Sucks but at least these guys have energy...

Interesting. Every photo pass I've ever had allows for shooting in the space between the barricade and the stage down front. I've never been dropped back to the sound board.

Great shots. If you ever need a second photog give me a holler. I know my way around the music industry pretty well.

Each artist has their own requirements for photographers. The bigger artists usually keep photographers back by the soundboard to control the images that are distributed.

Madonna had her own photographer handler that came out to get us, sat us in a corner of the venue to wait for songs 7,8, and 9 and took us out. We stood on the riser behind the light board. With Aerosmith, it was similar except we shot the first 3 songs. Even their tour photographer shot from back there.

Most shows at Sprint Center end up being from the soundboard just because of the performers that play there. Starlight gets a lot of artists that require soundboard as well. It's not optimal but it's pretty normal these days.

Oh I'm very much aware of the process mad the origin of the rules n such. Just never been subjected to shooting from the soundboard that's all.

Also never worked a sprint center show either. I tend to try and shoot artists I really like and that isn't a venue bands I listen to play.
