There's not anything to take up. It's played out in that thread.

I didn't even follow the thread to be honest. I saw the infraction roll through and went about my day. I couldn't even tell you what the post was about. I saw the same message you did.

My bad, my post was in response to the matter at hand and you still banned me. Thin skin is typically not a great attribute for a mod/admin. But I guess if it gets your rocks off, have at it, hoss.

You were warned against trolling. AAG is and always will be more lenient but when you can't keep your trolling contained to the appropriate time/place, you will get a response.

This site doesn't need people who's primary contribution to the site is trolling. If that's what you feel the need to do, keep it in AAG.

Next time do some due diligence on your argument so you actually have one.

Why not get a rule refresh..you aren't a very good victim (you also have other infractions so you aren't exactly a "model" member )

Back on topic, how do we make this thing relevant again? Everyone has a car.

I think what made KCSR so unique, and also is the reason KCSR has taken such a huge hit was the social aspect. All forums are down, but car specific forums, etc. still seem to be doing okay.

The thing that made KCSR unique were the social meet-ups and the fact that it was so diverse car-wise. Unfortunately, a lot have grown up/out of the car scene to an extent. So that leaves the social side of things, which most handle on Facebook & Instagram.

I agree.

But also there is probably the fact that there are less car enthusiasts today doesn't help.

Working in the industry, I'm going to say that's an inherently false statement. The industry is thriving as much or more than it has in a long time.

This may be another issue, being out of touch with the enthusiasts that are out there. I am in a Texas Import Facebook group and while I am not into half of the stuff they are doing, they have giant meet-ups weekly, etc.

I agree, it's just a different style of people. I just added a Horsepower Lunch event to help get things going again. I'll post in multiple locations.

I'll agree that there's as much or, more likely, even more automotive enthusiasm then 10-15 years ago.

People these days just use FB, IG, or the like to organize, buy/sell, etc.

In fact, there's a couple of local FB pages that I'm on that organize cars and coffee meets, parking garage meets, etc. Multiple times monthly.

This site died with original people that made this site fun disappearing or being banned. Fatguy comes to mind. Where's Tommygun? FOACAD? Steph? Cecily? I can keep going on and on...

True. But he still wasn't as bad as buckwheat. Or anyone else who caught a ban. He had an ego and it clashed with an admins ego and it went downhill from there.

Aftermarket, correct?

I feel like all I see is how sports cars have stalled and sales are dwindling. Outside of the mustang, challenger, and camaro, ae86, most other sports cars are really expensive, and people aren't buying them anymore.

I'm not sure that's even possible anymore. The damage has already been done. To many rules being enforced inconsistently, the main core of what KCSR was has moved on, there's nothing out there to recruit new members to keep it going. Plus the addition of facebook groups will kill a lot of forums like this.

The forum doesn't move as fast as it once did when there were far more members, so I don't spend all day F5'ing like I did nearly 15 years ago. I'll lurk my way through AAG once a year or so and that's enough for me.

I think the others have hit the nail on the head though. Discussion forums are simply a dying breed. Technology comes and goes and you'll have holdouts no matter what, but once people have moved on, a return to the 'glory days' is nearly impossible.

With that said, best of luck in turning things around. I know KCSR and all the folks involved with it sure helped me pass a lot of time and make a lot of friends in my university days. Would be great for the next round of folks to have a similar resource, whatever form it may take.
