just a thought
neither are in a dome....fwiw if peyton wasn't about winning, he would retire. peyton wants to be competitive and win. miami needs to do some serious moving to have an opportunity. chiefs grab peyton and make sure ricky stanzi spends alot of time with peyton.

Mort said on SC that Peyton "misses the smell of grass" and that he doesnt have to go to a team that plays in a dome. Said that he loved playing in an open air stadium like in his college days.

also...

12 teams call Peyton Manning's reps

Quote:
On the same day Peyton Manning officially left the only professional home he's ever had, his representatives were contacted by 12 of the NFL's 32 clubs, multiple sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that both the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals were among the teams to reach out to Manning's representatives on Wednesday.
The Broncos also planned to inquire about the four-time MVP's availability, a source told Schefter earlier, and see if he has interest in coming to Denver.

I want Peyton in KC, but I see him in Miami. Reggie Wayne is also a Miami native, and he and Brandon Marshall have both talked about wanting to play on the same team, with Peyton.

Miami is the odds on favorite right now, no doubt. They will throw money and wayne at him too. Plus, its miami, who wouldnt want to live in miami when you have that kind of money?

Shefter says the top four are: Miami, Washington, NYJ and Arizona.

I really dont understand the NYJ thing. Are they really gonna run from the sanchize so quickly? 3 years as their starter and they are ready to bench him for 2-3 years? I mean i understand that it might be appealing for Peyton to be in NY with his brother but on different teams, but there is just nothing else there for him. Plus the coach is a tool.

Shefter also says he expects it to be all over by next Tuesday.

the jets just hired tony sparano as their OC two months ago, i doubt they are gonna pick up manning. they seem content to just run the ball and suck. that and after the favre fiasco, i doubt they want to sign another big name qb just to go to shit, plus signing manning would be a waste of their investment in sanchez

The Sanchez part is the biggest reason why i dont understand their involvement in any of this.

It just doesnt make sense on any level.

he threw 3tds in foxboro to beat the patriots last year (2010)... that wasn't my point anyways. my point was that they are winning with him, he is not keeping them from doing good things. and he's only 25, he still has a lot of time to get better.

Manning is 'intrigued' by Arizona, and would be a package deal with Wayne. Also saw rumblings on Twitter about Washington going after 'the whole magilla' i.e. Manning, Wayne, and Moss.

Yikes.

He is awesome, always has been awesome, and should be awesome wherever he goes. Any team lucky enough to get him will likely see the playoffs, IMO.

I hope he comes to KC. AFC West would be the easiest route to the playoffs imo. That being said, couple that with the fact that he has around 3 years or so of good play left barring any type of discrepancies with injuries and such. I'd like to believe that Peyton wants an easy road to the playoffs. And if that is the case, then we will welcome him here in KC.

Peyton won't be going to the Jets. I promise you he would never play for an ass clown like Rex Ryan. Peyton is clearly the class act of the league and I am sure that whatever organization he goes to is going to be one of class and respect first and foremost...

Read an article from a Washington Beat Writer saying his multiple sources familiar with the situation say Peyton does not want to go to Washington. Says it's too cold and he doesn't want to be that close to his brother.

If weather is a big issue, I guess that makes Miami the clear favorite. Not sure if KC is too cold for him..

If winning is a big issue I'm pretty confident that KC would be a better fit. Our receiving corps looks like a better "plug & play" for Manning.

Man I can see it now. Peyton: Bowe, Baldwin, Breaston, and Moeaki. Charles in their for the run threat. That would just be a sick setup and ridiculously awesome!!

Holy Horsies! Peyton Manning may replace Tim Tebow in Denver

The Peyton Manning free agency bonanza is officially underway, and multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that up to12 NFL teams had reached out to Manning's agent expressing interest in his quarterbacking services.

The identity of one of these teams will raise a few people's eyebrows. It may cause other people to drop to one knee and rest their forehead upon their fist.

The Denver Post reports that the Denver Broncos are gauging Manning's interest in playing for them.

"The Broncos are expected to gauge Manning's interest by talking to his agent, Tom Condon, according to an NFL source close to the situation," says the Post. "If Manning's contract can be structured so the team would be protected in case Manning's troublesome neck becomes an issue, the Broncos could well be players."

The Broncos were a playoff team last season with Tim Tebow at quarterback. But Broncos' coach John Fox and executive VP John Elway are notoriously lukewarm toward Tebow and his unconventional throwing mechanics. Niether Fox nor Elway was involved with the decision to draft Tebow.

ESPN's Adam Schefter, himself a former Broncos beat reporter, insisted that Peyton-to-the-Bronos is a real possibility.

"It's more realistic than some people know," Schefter said on ESPN. "Denver has a lot to try to sell to Peyton Manning. You have an owner in Pat Bowlen who wants to win."

"You have John Elway, who understands the type of situation that Peyton Manning is in," Schefter continued. "You've got a team with a good defense, that's been known for its running game that has a good, young offensive line. A left tackle in Ryan Clady that can help protect Peyton Manning's blind side, and I think the Broncos can quietly make a push -- an aggressive push -- to see whether or not they can interest Peyton Manning in coming to Colorado."

"I think the one advantage they might have is, I think it's probably more comfortable for Peyton Manning to stay in the AFC than to transition over to the NFC," Shefter said."I'm sure he's open to going to an NFC team. But that gives certain teams in the AFC like the Broncos, like the Chiefs, like the Dolphins, like the Jets -- a leg up that the NFC teams cannot offer."

There has been some speculation that Peyton doesn't want to play in the NFC, to avoid competing directly with brother Eli Manning of the Giants. There is no evidence either Manning actually feels this way, it's just speculation.

Whatever Peyton Manning's decision, Schefter reports we're going to know this decision very soon.

"The sooner Peyton Manning makes (his decision) the better it is for him, and the better it is for other teams around the league," Schefter suggests. "Free agency starts Tuesday 4pm Eastern. And if Peyton Manning has chosen his new home by then, that gives that team a particular advantage in targeting certain free agents and figuring out how to work the cap. And it works to Peyton Manning and the team's advantage if the two sides can figure out a deal by Tuesday."

We've all by now considered that it's going to be weird to see Peyton Manning in another NFL team's uniform.

But we're going to see it, and we're almost surely going to see it within the next five days.

Denver over the Chiefs would be stupid. He would be better off in Kc because we have way more weapons on offense and a better defense than Denver.

He won't go to Denver, and he won't go to the NFC.

Right now its anybodies guess. KC certainly seems more lucrative with the way our team is built, but if weather really is a factor, Miami has the lead closely followed by Houston.
