Artist: Andrew Milko (formerly at The Mercy Seat) now at Sailors Grave in Omaha, NE

I don't have pics of current work unfortunately, If you are looking for a new artist I suggest Scott Stickman(sp) out of The Mercy Seat, sat for many hours and watched him work.

I have become a huge fan of Bob Bitner at Catalyst Arts Collective in Independence. Also Steven Campbell at Exile. Bob is doing my half sleeve in March.

*pics are right after the work was done hence the redness

It depends on the work I am having done. I have a piece on my left bicep done by a guy in Florida. (2011)

My left shoulder is done by Jessie Hopeless @ Exile. (I'm going to have the border redone on this one. (2013)

I'm starting the full sleeve on my right arm next Monday. Brandon Shields is doing that one. He works out of his home where he has a studio set up. I chose Brandon because it's a comic book art piece and he's the only artist I found with good comic work in his portfolio.

I've never understood why people have such low self-esteem that they have to deface their skin with artwork.

Very sad

I always wondered why someone would get a tattoo. Thanks for the insight.

The tattoo convention is going to be in KC May 19-21. Got an appointment with Shanghai Kate to finish a half sleeve she did for me in March. She is one incredible lady. If you are in to tattooing, I would recommend even going to one of her talks. She is 76, apprenticed with Sailor Jerry, and has had a huge hand in tattooing becoming what it is.

http://www.shanghaikates.com/

I also like Mark Hartenberger of Black Sheep in Tulsa. He does some awesome freehand work, and his daily rate is great for the high quality of work you get.

There are plenty of others that I like. One I would love to get work done by some day, is Rob Richardson in the UK. When it comes to portrait/realistic tattoos, I don't know if I have seen any better.

Most importantly does shanghai Kate offer happy endings?

I have 1 tattoo of a Chinese symbol on my chest but I'm thinking about having it removed. I have debated on getting another tattoo of my sons birthdate but I just don't feel like spending money on such a thing.

I love art and tattoos. I'm the black sheep of my family. My older 3 brothers all have tattoos. Two of my brothers have complete back pieces, half sleeves, stomach and sides covered. They all say the same thing though. .after the years pass by, you don't regret SOME of the things they have, but would rather replace it with another idea or event in there life. It's not a big deal to them, but it seems like it would be for me. Being that i consider myself a decent artist, I Go back through my drawings quite often and want to change something about the drawing, when i thought it was absolutely perfect the first time. Just a scary commitment i guess.
