Default New Audi Obtained!!

Here is where we started...

http://www.kcsr.org/showthread.php?t=165906

I decided to keep it under 50k like the thread stated. It's a new 2016 S3 with Tech Package, Black Optics, Bang & Olufsen and Factory Resonator Delete. I am really happy with it! I was trying to work with them on a 2017 but everyone locally wouldn't come off sticker at all. The dealership I went with already had multiple 2017 S3 and S4's spoken for and they are not arriving at US dealers until February-March. I was really happy with the price when compared to the local Denver market it was a great deal. I plan to do some minor performance upgrades and at least winter tires with possibly winter wheels in the next few months. Anyways on to the photos...

Very nice, congrats!

I was talking to some dealerships about a TTS around 6 months ago and you're absolutely right..they will barely come down on price.

Enjoy the new ride!

I like the S3 a lot! One of my favorites in Audi's line up. Congrats, man!

Thanks guys. It further impresses me the more I drive it. It eats corners for breakfast with that magnetic ride.

Its crazy how the TTS is the exact same car as the S3 minus 2 doors and it starts 10k more. I didn't see any TTS under 60k at the dealers I visited.

I'm an Audi fan, but pretty disappointed there's no manual option.

awesome car, i think they have a look that will prove to be typical audi - damn near timeless. prolly would not have gone with black, especially in denver, but that's me. any interior pics?

Here are some interior shots just messing around. I really like how the Bang & Olufsen speakers get the long LED accents. I enjoy the clean simple modern look of the interior.

I also already have an intake on it and it sounds fantastic. It peaks torque at 1800rpm so it doesn't take much to really hear the turbo.

Nice ride!
I think Audi's come with a basic 4yr or 50k mile warranty.

Here is a neat review: http://autoweek.com/article/car-revi...xpensive-rings

If they offer the RS3 more than just one year I will probably consider jumping to it in 2 years...maybe. This S3 is awesome now, I know the +50awhp will keep me happy for awhile!

Windows are getting tinted next weekend. Still pondering winter tire options. Last thing will probably just a AWE catback in the spring.

Congrats! Looks like an awesome car.

I really like Audi's (almost went with S4 instead of my Q50S), but there's just 1 thing I cannot stand about their interiors.

Interesting... I didn't know they had those juice box plug ins for Audi vehicles. Are people using those more than APR/GIAC now days to try to avoid dealers detecting the car has been tuned?

What I've read on the VW Golf R forums is that even running a piggyback and removing it is still detectable by the VW/Audi ECM scanning software. Something about the way boost is recorded and gets saved in the memory.

With the DSG, a hefty 93-100 octane tune, TCU tune, and exhaust work, I've seen true strip times (via YouTube) in the 11.99-12.3 range at 110-114mph. Pretty dang impressive for a 4 banger turbo, especially considering what they run stock (13.4@102mph).

I have read tons of things that go both directions on its level of detectability. Either way its the least intrusive method to do so. There is a guy running the piggyback + DP + intercooler, catch can running 11.7's. This is just a daily for me so I am not too worried about the piggyback and there are hundreds of guys on the forums that have been running them for 30-40k so far with no issues. Rumor is the JB4 will be out for MBQ by the end of the year. The JB1 gets here tomorrow. Install may have to wait until Friday.

Wow. I love these things. I had no idea Burger was making tunes for Audi and VW. Hopefully the JB4 will have integrating steering wheel controls like the other platforms.

Yep, certainly impressive gains to be had with fairly simple bolt-ons, especially considering it's just a 2.0 liter turbo motor. Got to love the Germans and their abilities to extract big power from small packages.

How's the drivability? From the reviews of this car and the Golf R, I have "heard" that off boost, the car can be a bit laggy and can get caught in power dead zones, largely because of the bigger turbo. At full throttle, all is well though.

I really considered the S3 when looking at cars earlier this year. I love the size and the looks. I too will be going with a JB1 at some point with my M235. Right now the power is fine. I wish I had a local strip to test at. My Torque App is showing 1/4 mile times in the 12.9-13.1@108-109mph range with my M235 6MT (probably not real accurate, I know). That's still a long way off from those 11s you might see with that DSG and bolt-ons. LOL.

I got the JB1 in tonight. Substantial increase in power! I have only done a few pulls so I need to drive it more. As for the lag off boost, I can see what people say about it but I have found that by specific throttle control in lower gears I have eliminated some of it. Part of it is also the DSG's computer doing what it thinks is "ideal" or most "efficient". The transmission takes into account throttle position through each gear to determine the most "efficient" spot to shift. Plus from initial impressions the JB1 appears to have helped reduce it as well. I have no complaints with it, peaking all that torque still comes quickly in the power band. If I decide at some point to go past a catback I would probably jump to the JB4.
