Default Stove top Cleaner

I have an electric oven and stove top. It's the black top. Looks like this:

My question is, what's a good cleaner that'll pull off the grease and stuff, as well as make the top look good. Maybe even take out a few scratches from pans being moved around. The one I use now makes it look good, but when I turn the burners on again, all the cleaner comes up like it left a scum layer and puts white marks on my oven. I know there's a bunch of stuff to TRY, but I want one that WORKS.

Not sure, but I have one too. I picked up some cleaner at Bed Bath and Beyond that is supposedly specialized for this. I will let you know how it goes when my wife uses it..

sharp blades work to get the big stuff off and the polish is used for the leftover. I've had one for 11 years, they are kind of a pain in the ass, but they all get dirty.

we just old school razor blades

Soft scrub + sponge with green scouring pad on one side. Rub, rub, rub.

I bought some stuff that specifically for those type of stoves. Works pretty good.

Something like this:

I never thought of that, I had one nasty spot I couldn't scrub clean with the Wieman's, so I will give it a shot.

The Wiemans stuff made my cook top as smooth and shiny as a mirror..

Give it a shot for sure. I just bought a couple of the cheap $.99 scrapers from Lowes. It's just a straight blade in a plastic handle. Another thing I think helps when you use the Wieman's, use a sponge with like the scotch brite rough stuff on one side. That rough shit makes a huge difference in cleaning.
